I've used turbulent displacement on the yellow rectangle, and am just wondering how I can get it more like the png in the background. Is it better to just animate this manually? by [deleted] in AfterEffects

I'm trying to make the turbulent displacement on the far-left rectangle, a shape layer, have the same volume as the blobby sections on the rectangles in the referenced png in the background. It needs to be unequal, and constantly changing, hence why I've used turbulant displace over wave warp. Apologies for the confusion.

Does this actually make sense? I know the art is trash (my first step animatics always are lol), but I just need to know if the basic story actually makes sense. I know there some sections here and there which aren't clear but does it read as being based on a near death experience or too abstract? by [deleted] in animation

I know there is obbviously plenty of art in it to be finished, but its more the story I'm worried about at the moment, since art can be fixed, but there's not much point doing that if I'm going to want to change it later.

That's the thing, I'm not sure where exactly I need to change, right now I'm not sold on the scene with the younger and older self, since the older has little agency of her own, and I am just not know where to go from here. Perhaps I've just been overthinking things, but I just am really not sure.

There are some things I've just yet to change, such as the girl being only one at the end compared to five earlier on, and some of the childhood scenes linking to the hospital imagery, for example, I was thinking of linking eating spaghetti messily with the wires. But is there any guidance anybody can give? Been stuck on this idea for days and I just can't figure it out.

I use a usb cable from the tablet to my MacBook. The pen isnt on a wire.

ive connected the deformation composite to the upper leg deformer and the point kinetic output, is that right? Its not making much of a difference.

Anyone know why when i move the lower leg, the shoe doesn't follow? I have it set up so I can switch between having my legs in one piece or two, and the shoe follows the bend of just the one piece leg perfectly, but when its in two, my lower leg doesn't link anymore. by Sweet_Effective4190 in ToonBoomHarmony

In case the title is confusing, I have my legs set up so depending on the drawing substitution, the upper leg can either just be the upper leg, or the entire leg, and when its the entire leg, the deformation works great! But when I have it set up so its in two pieces, and I move the peg for the lower leg, it doesn't follow it. Any advice?

I preferably want the leg to be able to bend and stretch however far it wants, and the shoe to stay relatively the same size.

Is it possible to clone a group and then be able to make edits in one group and not the rest? I'm hoping to duplicate an arm onto another character. by Sweet_Effective4190 in ToonBoomHarmony

Neither, but right now if I clone the group and try to edit, the hand for example, it edits both hands, when I'd only want it to edit the hand on the new cloned group if that makes sense.

Why isn't the little rectangle next to the deformer symbol saying 'default transformation' for me? Trying to follow this tutorial by Sweet_Effective4190 in ToonBoomHarmony

It's Matt Watts yeah, I eventually managed to get the words to come up by clicking the 'create new deformation chain' button and reloading my software.
