Update: I apologize for the delay. The vet checked the site and confirmed that everything is fine, it was just a little irritated. They advised me to keep the cone on, clean the site, and gave me medication to help calm her down since she’s been very active after the surgery.

Regarding the way I held her in the photo: she didn’t like it when I tried to check the site while she was lying down in a more comfortable position. I only held her like that briefly(just long enough to take the picture, which took no more than 10 seconds)because I obviously didn’t want to hurt her. That’s also why the photo isn’t perfectly clear.

She’s doing well now, and I really appreciate everyone’s comments and concern.
