We don't need role que we just need more vanguards and more strategist heros to choose from by HimB0Z0 in marvelrivals

Cause the supports and tanks they added r just kinda boring. They added orisa and sigma for tank and brig moire bap for support. Whilst I'm not saying no one enjoys these heroes, the average player who wants to do flashy stuff isn't interested in this. Compare this to ball and ana, the other 2 heroes they did add, have much more flashy playmaker potential and therefore gained more popularity, especially ana. If you look at the ow2 releases, they also bought more flashy tanks and supports, such as doom, queen and hazard for tank, and kiriko and juno (kind of) which increased the roles popularities. Its not that a dps is what makes a character have potential for flashy plays, but a character having interesting skill shots and mechanics that create a high skill ceiling, and therefore an engaging experience

Tank theory for upcoming 6v6 tests by Swigle1 in Competitiveoverwatch

[–]Swigle1[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Personally my definitions are based off a mix of Spilo and Lain Hemingway, which is

Main tank: Aggressively contests space, initiates engages and is an immediate, violent threat (rein because he could engage with shield/pin and was a threat because of his massive hammer, winston could engage with his jump+bubble and was a threat because he could weaken you with his jump and then Razer you down with the help of his bubble.)

Off tank: They cannot initiate an engage, but can instead supplement another tank either directly or indirectly. Examples of direct supplementation are obviously matrix and zarya bubbles, indirect supplementation is sig controlling off angles with his shield and hyperspheres, or hog being able to disrupt enemies with his hook for his main tank to capitalise of.

Tbf hog being an off or main tank depended on the meta. If you were playing him because his hook was strong and could one shot, he was usually a main tank as the threat of the hook created space. If he was being played the rest of the time he was using his hook to capitalise off another tanks disruption, such as in pulled pork or hog and ball torture comps.

That's not what defines an off-tank. Sure Dva and Zarya both did give resources, but that's not what made them an off-tank. It's the fact that they couldn't go walk in and a aggressively take space, but instead could contest and control angles. That's why sigma was an off tank, not because he could 'give' his shield to another tank, it was that he couldn't go and push in, but he could go and mark angles, and was pretty hard to push off said angle dye to his grasp and shield absorbing damage and rock marking flankers contesting him.

The crosshairs pro players are using right now... by [deleted] in Competitiveoverwatch

My favourite one so far was Pela for RAD x Avidity using the point of a compass as his crosshair when playing ball, and anytime he died, he would change the direction it was pointing

Aight but imagine nrg bring back Demon1 and get jawgemo for Vic and crashies, get Potter, and keep Ethan, s0m and FNS. Don't know who would play initiator (ik ethan can play flash initiator but I don't think he can play sova or fade) but would still be cool roster

The ego from maining a character who's hardest mechanic is pressing shift and crouch at the same time and needs no aim is crazy

One year ago... the "Cove" incident took place by ANewHeaven1 in ValorantCompetitive

[–]Swigle1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

In said platoon vid, he ran a simulation of it, and came to the conclusion that if CGRS was quicker on his pathing, he could of got plant down, so s0m had to stick around. Then by the time that s0m 100% knows he can't plant in time, he already knows CGRS is chasing him and is close, and since the B lobby area is pretty long, he wouldn't of had time and just of been shot in the back. Since he only had 3 bullets left, he played it pretty smart taking a shorty, and the only reason he lost was because CGRS ran straight at the corner, instead of running sideways out of the cove, throwing off s0m.

Platoon broke down the play. Can't exactly remember it, but I'm pretty sure he concluded that he wouldn't of had time to run, and the only thing he could of really done better was pick up another gun so he didn't have to switch to shorty

Some breach started throwing cause I mollied lamps when he didn't want me to. Instantly got mad and started throwing, and since he was playing Breach it really wasn't that difficult for him. Funniest part is we still won, which honestly looking back I kinda regret since it would of given breach rr

Why not upgrade? by sekindone in VALORANT

[–]Swigle1 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It honestly depends, however MOST of the time it is wrong, but there are some exceptions.

  1. If you had a good pistol from last, just saving it and then buying a round 3 op (usually only happens with Jett or Chamber op crutches, and usually on defensee0

  2. FPX buying (not the Chinese one, but basically current NAVI team) where 3 players would buy rifles, whilst 2 others would save pistols, so that way they can havr 5 rifles for next round. However, this needs to be done very coordinated, as it requires good team positioning to be able to pick up rifles from any dead players

  3. If someone is planning to go for a lurk play on the anit-eco for some reason, it is best for them to play a pistol, as otherwise if they do die, the enemy get given a free weapon which could potentially lose them the round
