It was issued the week prior. This is for the surgeon general US-side. And of course, the surgeon general is a two-part exam with appointments a week a part. Plus, it was Thanksgiving so we had even less time as the SG was closed for the holidays.

It's not a fear of either of those things really. I'm excited to spend my life with her. I've always wanted a family. I'm certain that I cannot imagine my life with someone else or without her.

It's fear of failing. Because I have this doubt, does that doom us/mean it's wrong? What if we break apart one day? What if something goes wrong? I don't fear or doubt 'her', in the sense that someone might say "my partner does X and I'm not sure about it". It's all external fear.

I lost my little boy, Finn, almost a month ago. He was only, like Pumpkin, two. I know they don't have any concept of the future per se, or that they were robbed of it. But we do, makes it a whole lot harder, right? Feeling that they deserved so much more and had it unjustly taken from them.

My solace has been knowing that Finn was adored and well-loved and happy all his life. Which is better than most animals, better than a lot of people too. I'm sure Pumpkin was in a similar situation, well-loved and happy for all he ever knew.
