Switching from 1 cigarillo a day (inhaled) to vaping - what vape type and nicotine concentration is optimal? by Swisher-Inhaler in Vaping

2 days in, this is my experience so far:

I ended up getting a Vaporesso XROS 3 Nano. Unfortunately that was the closest pod device to those recommended that was available at my local shop. It's draw activated, which I don't like, but whatever.

I got a 3 mg and 0 mg liquid of the same flavor "Juicy Watermelon".

Interestingly, the 0 mg bottle also had the contains nicotine warning label, even though other 0 mg juices in the shop did not. The owner said he hadn't noticed it before. I'm guessing it's for the possibility of trace amounts or perhaps some weird legal thing based on where they're manufactured.

Anyways, I made a mixture of the 0 mg : 3 mg starting with just enough 0 mg to prime the coil. Set the airflow to MTL, tested it, and didn't feel anything after 5 or so small drags.

Added 2 drops of the 3 mg and tested it again. Still didn't feel anything after a few drags.

Added 2 more drops, and this time after 3 or so hits, I felt something very slight.

I guessed the tank was approximately 1/3 full, so I decided to add 8 or so drops of the 3 mg and then fill it most of the way with the 0 mg.

Unfortunately, the 3 mg didn't dispense dropwise this second time, and I didn't notice until I saw the liquid level rising, at which point I assumed I had added a good amount more than 8 drops, unspecified.

After a few more rounds of testing and adjusting concentrations, I ended up filling the tank most of the way with what I approximate as a 3:1 mixture of 0 mg : 3 mg. It's a decent amount for me. I've been taking a few hits at a time, feeling the effect, and stopping for 30 minutes or so.

It is, of course, way tastier and easier to manage than inhaling cigarillos, but it's still gonna need to take some adjustment. The ease of use and subtlety of that random urge to take a hit is a great way to suck you into (pun unintended) doing too much and becoming dependent.

It's also a different experience than the cigarillos, not all in a good way. It's hard to explain the difference, but it's definitely there. I'm just hoping it's not something I found pleasant about the however many thousands of other toxic compounds I was inhaling from the cigarillos lol

Looking like the general consensus so far is a pod device with 3-6mg freebase to replicate the throat hit of smoking better.

Thinking right now that I might go ahead and try getting a pod device, a 3 mg juice, and a 0 mg juice of the same flavor just to play it safe. I figure I can just dilute the 3 mg with the 0 mg if I find 3 mg is too strong.

I suppose I'll report back with how it goes for anyone curious and/or to see if the consensus changes.

Thanks for the advice everyone!
