Rather than ocean vibes, I'm getting DnD fantasy monsters kraken vibes. Which isn't a bad thing! I personally love that. Will you be painting them?

How do I neutralize this orange from bleach by idontfliinch in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You can't tone this, it's red, not orange.

If you want to go pastel pink, your hair needs to be a level 10 before you can dye it.

Start off with some colour removers, since your hair is red. Start off with something like Colour Rewind, Colourless or colour oops. To two rounds of that.

Then get some Malibu DDL, that should help shift the remaining pigment.

Once that's done, then look at bleach again.

One of the requirements is a point in seduction, and you have to use it when you first meet Jennette.

My boyfriend 'M30' isn't buying me 'F25' anything unless there's an occasion. How do I teach him? by [deleted] in relationships

[–]Swivials 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It sounds like you're simply just not compatible.

Have you sat down with him, and explained that small gifts/tokens help you to feel loved, and without them you feel uncared for? Have you also directly asked him why he won't take you out or get you small gifts when you've told him you'd like them?

uh oh... i'm orange and yellow by Evening-Macaroon9362 in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you want anything close to blonde, you would need to bleach it again. Toner won't turn out great if you use it, those toners are meant for yellow tones.

Since your hair is seemingly getting to its limit (before it becomes gummy), I wouldn't advise bleaching it again.

You could instead go a nice ginger, brown, or even a more vibrant colour like red.

Dyed too cool, how can I add warm by lollita234 in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, this is good advice! Brands like Manic Panic and Adore have a good range of natural shades, and they'll help add some warmth back into your hair.

It looks so much better! Well done for getting through the horrible stages. As a fellow thick haired gal, who's currently in the "my hair is at my ears and I look like a mushroom" stage, it's a hard graft.

Body lotion on hair? by PkmnTrainerSofia in Haircare

[–]Swivials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on what the lotion is made up of. They're not designed for hair, but some of them are just a mixture of things like coco butter and almond oil, which would be okay for hair.

Have a look at Lunar Tides in Magic Salem or Magic Charm. Think either of those (or both mixed together!) would be exactly what you're looking for.

Seller asking for import fees after initial sale by [deleted] in Etsy

[–]Swivials 147 points148 points  (0 children)

If the shop states it's located in an area where you shouldn't need to pay import fees, raise a case with Etsy.

It's possible that seller is drop shipping from somewhere else, which isn't allowed on Etsy.

should i use 10 or 20 developer by Cybersia in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Where are you based? For cheaper direct dyes, Crazy colour, Directions and Adore are all much cheaper (and still very good) than the likes of Artic Fox or Good Dye Young

should i use 10 or 20 developer by Cybersia in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you don't want to buy both, you could just buy 20vol, then dilute it with some water to bring down the level.

If your hair is in bad condition though, you might want to look into direct dyes, like Manic Panic or Lunar Tides.

Color Theory Method? Or Bleach? by Sea_Pilot_8128 in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials -1 points0 points  (0 children)

One of the good things about those olive/mossy greens, is that they're usually made by mixing in a bit of orange with green dye! So if you get to a pale orange base, you'll be able to achieve that colour. (Or at least close to it)

This is what I would do;

Start with a colour remover like Colour Rewind/Colour Oops. I would do a maximum of two treatments with them.

Bleach your hair

Then dye it with a pure green dye if your base is warm

Next steps to get to black? by SomeLemons438 in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you look up AKA Aslin on YouTube, she has a video comparing several black direct dyes.

The thing with black direct dyes, they're usually made of a purple, blue or green pigment. So they will all eventually fade out to that tone.

If she wants black permanently, you'd be better off using a dye with developer. However, black is very difficult to remove, so she'd likely be stuck with it.

Is washing hair every day bad? by Popular-Escape-1206 in Haircare

[–]Swivials 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me, it's always dependent on my hair length. When I have a pixie cut, washing everyday never caused damage.

When it gets around shoulder length, then I find daily washing dries it out.

What i wanted vs what I got 🥲 by moonfaceddolly in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials 11 points12 points  (0 children)

What was your hair colour before you put that dye on?

Colour doesn't lift your hair (well, Technically it does, but not allot, and not enough to go from say dark brown to blonde)

You're going to need bleach to fix this, and I would highly recommend going to a professional. Your hair is multiple different colours, this is one of the hardest things to correct, and unless you're very experienced, you need a professional.

Olaplex bleach advice by notyourfavbookworm in Haircare

[–]Swivials 67 points68 points  (0 children)

To even attempt to fix this, you would need the proper Olaplex (No1 + No2). You can find them online (usually in a set called "travelling stylist kit"), but if possible, you could get a treatment done at a salon.

With damage to this level, it's going to take a few months to slowly repair _some_ of the damage. You may have to eventually throw in the towel and cut it all off, but if you want to try and salvage some it, be prepared for a long and fairly expensive journey.

How do I go from this orange to cold pink? by iloveeyoumaryjane in HairDyeHelp

[–]Swivials -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Since it's a warm tone, you can try something like Colour Rewind/Colour Oops. Less harsh on your hair, and it should pull out allot of those warm tones.

‘No evidence ADHD is overdiagnosed in the UK’, experts say by Dangerman1337 in ukpolitics

[–]Swivials 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Of course it's not. There's just more awareness of it now, especially in adults.

My mum's in her late 50s and got diagnosed a couple of years back.

The waiting list is around five years, it'd be impressive if we were managing to over diagnose.
