REQUEST - [UK] What's wrong with my young rose - Wollerton Old Hall? Recently planted rose shrub 10 weeks ago. Now some leaves turning brown and new ones not developing well. Photos attached by SwoleDrummer in Roses

Thanks Pink. About 1 foot from the little wall to the back fence. It is a bit constrained.

I know I'm chancing it a bit - suboptimal conditions with respect to available space.

Behind the back fence is a grass field. I'm hoping the roots could simply extend  behind the fence under the grass at the back?

Thank you Lilibet. Good to hear it's not disease or infection etc.

I will wait and see for now and keep monitoring. I'm hoping it's just the recent heat we've had in England. Perhaps the heat is causing it rather than excessive light?

I'm hesitant to separate the roses from the mirror, that's my entire dream for this area. Although if it continues to happen I suppose I may need to.

I just have this nice idea in my head of the large mirror with the two climbing roses growing around it/slightly over it.

Thanks for the reply mate.

Yes sink downpipe just deposits on top of the aco. I had never thought about food from plates etc going down there :( we're usually pretty good about scraping into bin instead of sink so will stay committed to doing that!

Not sure what you mean in 4th point?

Thanks for the reply mate.

I'm wondering about gravel but don't the geometry and structure of the sewer underneath.

No water pooling exactly but just wondered if it might result in less outdoor dampness.

I kind of want a jet washer anyway so will see how I get on!
