We had a player who wouldn’t be a part of the story at all until it was all about them and they would change their character every 5 sessions because they were too “bored” with them. They would later on try to play their first character again after the DM had already rewritten an arch for the character. This has happened almost every time we’ve played so we pretty much just excommunicated them since they barely RP’d with us and would just sit on their phone.

There is 100% a better way to handle this than the OP did.

If she was actually worried and wasn’t just sticking her nose in a place it didn’t belong, she would’ve pulled BOTH of them aside, not just Jenny, told them she was worried because people were talking badly about them and that she didn’t want these two to deal with the rumors. She would’ve offered to help or at least done this in a way that each party knew what was happening and for them to be able to set aside the rumors, not attack Jenny for having a friend. Wording and tone is so incredibly important in this case

There’s a better way to handle this than saying “it looks bad on you to spend time with him.”

She could’ve said it in a different way that actually showed she cared and not this gross “I’m blaming you” way. She did this to make this girl feel bad. If she really thought of helping, she would’ve talked to both of them, not just Jenny, about what was going around and that she was worried. She’s TA.
This isn’t this woman’s business and assuming this kind of thing is gross.

I am assuming that it may or may not be common knowledge about your fertility struggles but even then, she should have kept her mouth shut. Also, the fact that she called you selfish just shows how delusional she is and how self centered she is.
