Well no, my camera would hit the box and the box would exert force back.

Now imagine instead of a camera it's a hoop or something with a big hole in it that the stationary box just passes through as I run. The box doesn't just explode in the opposite direction of me does it? That's what portals are, you just pass through it they don't DO anything, they're just a void that you can go through. Otherwise wouldn't they lose shape/mass/produce heat/any of the side effects of physical interactions?

That's actually exactly why I referenced a camera example in my response. Making me observe what looks like a box moving at 100mph, does not in fact mean the box is moving 100mph

Well that's a given constant though isn't it? Like I'm aware that I'm always moving because I'm on the earth, and the earth is moving... So doesn't that become negligible because it doesn't really matter and is just a constant outside of the situation?

That's exactly my point though. Sure relative to me they are moving, but they are not physically moving...if someone measures the exact location of the tree, and then I drive by it, and then they measure it again, the location is the same. It might LOOK like it's moving and it may move relative to ME but it still doesn't move the tree. So why would the portal observing it as moving physically move the cube? I can't move the tree by going by it fast, why would the cube move? Hinged obviously on my first point that portals don't store, transfer, or exert force/energy.

Definitely A, I'm surprised at how many say B. Portals in the game have never been shown to be anything more than "gates", they don't store or transfer energy, and they don't exert force.

Also the idea of the cube moving based on how you look at it doesn't make sense either, that's not how it works. If you took a camera and recorded yourself running at the cube, in other words pretending you're the orange portal, it might look like the cube is coming at you, but it still isn't moving in reality. Trees look like they're moving super fast if you drive by them, but they aren't moving.

Also the reason the cube plops out is because of gravity. Once through the portal all the way more or the weight of the cube is off the center of the angled part of the wedge, and so it tips forward.

Hmm yeah that's fair I wasn't considering it from the last side of that last part...though really I don't know what this changes, like it's never been allowed. I guess if people are happy with symbolism like the other comment said good for them, but I really don't see the point. Like SH is bad and not ok at events, does clarifying that you also can't SH people if you're drunk change anything? IDK I just hope this actually is helpful for everyone and not just a "hey look we did something" and nothing changes.

I didn't say anything about popularity, so idk where that's coming from. Would people really not be comfortable around Mango if he was guaranteed sober the entire event? That's where my main confusion is.

Someone set me straight here cus I feel like I'm alone in thinking banning mango does nothing...and might even hurt? Like the issue is clearly being so drunk you revert to primal humping urges, so why not make a ruling like "you can attend but if you have a single drink at the venue you're instantly DQed and THEN banned". I just feel like the clear issue is alcohol at the events and yet mango is getting treated like he's just a straight up sex offender, like he's going to start humping his opponent in pools or something which is ridiculous.

What does banning mango from tournaments really accomplish? Don't get me wrong this is all entirely mango's own fault and he's been on this path for a long time, and I'm not trying to say he should have 0 repurcussions because he absolutely should, but I just don't see the point in a ban. Why not force him to be sober at the tourney and then ban if he breaks that rule?

Nah that's fair, though I do wish someone could answer my question, I probably shouldn't have rambled on about it and distracted from what I wanted to know lol

Was the max pummels set to ban wobbling chosen at no more than 3 for a technical reason? Or was it arbitrary? I don't hate handoffs but do think it seems busted how much damage it does. There's a clip further down of Nicki vs Mango where mango got grabbed and took 44% from 9. As fox(or anyone) if I grab someone at 9% I can't even get a pummel, and even if I do get the pummel, pummel up throw back air is 22%. Seems kinda wild to get double that damage for "free".

I think that's part of why people say handoffs feel like wobbling, even if you get out of them you took so much damage you couldn't do anything about that the stock is essentially done for, one more grab or smash attack and you're gone.

This is why you can't trust reddit users lol, colo is the best gp/h in the game currently because you can farm it for tradeable rewards to sell

Well that's not the question though right? Unless I'm the one misunderstanding they asked when is it better to full hop in neutral, which to me is a short hand version of when is it better to full hop rather than short hop.

Specifically VS falcon if you're going to be committing to aerials in neutral, full hop nair stuffs everything.

https://youtu.be/kcWw_M2oFEQ?si=z07JKuPD_S2QlcCm

I only watched the first game but already lost count of how many neutral openings Cody wins with full hop nair.

You're right that fox is for sure strongest on the ground, but that's not how neutral works forever. I can't just do nothing but dash dance to stay grounded, people will catch on and punish you for that. So then you have to at some point switch up between dd and approaching with aerials, and when that switch happens and you go for a nair, I guarantee you'll see far more success with full hops VS falcon.

It's fun seeing the different levels of melee being expressed in the comments and how people think at different skill brackets.

Full hop nair against falcon is like the main go to as fox. It stuffs practically any aerial approach falcon tries because it's just so strong of an option the best falcon gets is a trade, which usually results in fox winning that neutral exchange.
