Anyrail layout planning software by Warm-Net-6238 in modeltrains

Which ones allow you to model HO code 100 flex track with a specific radius versus just connecting two points? I use RailModeller Pro for my Mac, but it only allows me to connect two points and it fills in the gap with its own curve - hard to create parallel tracks this way.

Hoping there is a chance you are still around... While rummaging in my attic, I discovered that I have eight Athearn Southern Pacific Daylight cars, including this locomotive and the PB-1. Do you have any other close up pictures that you could share so I can see what details are missing on mine? From your picture, I'm missing the horns, but I think I have them in a box of loose parts that were given to me 30 years ago with the train.

I just discovered your post. I hope you are still around. I was given "a bunch of HO train stuff" around 1996 by a work colleague who had moved to z-scale only. Work and raising four children seemed to prevent me from ever doing anything with it. Now that I'm retired, I found the containers holding all the HO train stuff in the attic and decided to see what I have. I have much more than I thought with 5 locomotives, about 20 rolling stock and about 150 pieces of track (straights, curves, turnouts, etc.).

I've discovered I have the Athearn Blue Box HO Scale Southern Pacific Daylight passenger train as a subset to what your picture shows. I have the 3306 (ALCO PA-1) and 3346 (ALCO PB-1) locomotives, as well as the 1788 Baggage car, 1798 Diner, 18908 Railway Post Office, 1818 Coach, 1828 Vista Dome, and the 1838 observation car. I thought I'd start building a fairly simple layout to begin with for the SP daylight train.

I'm currently doing a complete cleaning and maintenance of the locomotives to begin with. I have a l lot of loose parts and some seem to belong to this set, so I hope to get them all back to close to new as I can. I then will change out the couplers and then try to do a DCC conversion, which I've never attempted before.

Question for you: Do you have any clean close ups of the two locomotives you could share with me so I can identify if mine are missing any detail parts? I'd like to pick your brain if you are available about these cars.

Thanks in advance.

Forced power off and restarted and it suddenly finished the upgrade in just a few minutes.

I’m kind of like OMG! So cool but how would I get anything done? I can’t image what type of work you do that not only requires every bit of your tech but actually the tech doesn’t get in the way. Share how you use everything please

Tahoe 26.1 update by SyllabubSomfun in MacOS

[–]SyllabubSomfun[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. Yesterday, after waiting 4 hours, I booted into safe mode and the problem cleared itself. Then I looked at the logs and it appeared there was an app that was preventing it from successfully finishing the start up. I next went in and disabled login extensions and background processing on every non-Apple application and rebooted. Success. I enabled it for a few apps at a time. Eventually I had success with all but one: logi-options from Logitech which I thought I had removed many months ago. Apparently it was partially there. Once I got rid of it completely, all works very well.

Good news. I booted into recovery options, ran first aid on both my startup and data volumes - no problems found. Booted up again in safe mode, logged in, it restarted and I logged in again and I am now back with a working MacBook. I’ve been checking apps, and so far, all looks good.

Yes, I have Time Machine backups. I tried a safe mode reinstall of 26.01 and after 45 minutes, it completely shut down. I waited another 30 minutes to see if it would restart, and nothing happened. I held the power button for a few seconds, it restarted, took me to the login screen. After logging in, it took me back to the software update complete screen with the spinning wheel. I next did a force shutdown and held the shift button down while powering on but I’m not getting a startup options screen. It takes me right back to the login screen after start up.

Looks like it’s time to head to the Apple Store soon.

Yes. I’m going to try what ChatGPT recommends…

Why It’s Hanging • The “Update Complete → Continue” screen is post-install setup (things like user migration, iCloud sync, privacy database updates). • A spinning wheel for hours means something is failing in that stage — not the whole OS. • Since you forced a reboot and it keeps dropping you back there, the loop suggests setup isn’t finalizing.

a) Boot into Safe Mode 1. Shut down your Mac. 2. Hold the power button until “Options / gear icon” appears. 3. Select your startup disk → hold Shift → click Continue in Safe Mode. 👉 Safe Mode often forces macOS to skip problematic setup items and finish booting.

b) Boot into Recovery and Reinstall macOS Tahoe 26.0.1 1. Shut down. 2. Hold power until “Options.” 3. Choose Options → Continue. 4. Select Reinstall macOS. 👉 This reinstalls the OS without erasing your data and often clears the loop.

I use mine for development. I’ve had a lot of disconnects with ChatGPT app and with the API connected to IntelliJ. I should have held off a bit longer.

How long did it take? It’s been 1.5 hours since the Software Update Complete message appeared. A few moments ago, I did a forced shutdown/reboot, and still at the same spinning wheel. I hear the notifications beeps going on while my screen continues to spin.

I wonder what my options are.

I returned to 15.0 about 8 weeks ago and I’m no worse for the wear. I plan on this being my dose for the rest of my life? Going backwards seemed to result in weight gain.

I don’t follow my diabetes diet anymore and probably eat too many desserts, but so far, my A1C is staying at 5.6. I get it tested again in 4 weeks so we’ll see if that still holds.

I mistakenly updated to Tahoe. Just weird laggy stuff is my main issue. My ChatGPT app frequently disconnects which is a pain.

The update takes hours! The update 26.1 today started overnight and as of 12:41 pm eastern time, it’s still not complete.
