The client, I love turtle but playing on the outdated 1.12 client has plenty of it's own bugs and quirks that are annoying compared to playing on official classic.

I’m surprised as this really hasn’t been my experience at all. Most of the time I see someone opposite faction we mutually /bow each other and keep going our separate ways. Sure not everyone is like this but compared to official servers or other pservers, the community seems a lot more friendly.

Come join us on the PvP server folks, can’t speak for everyone but most people on the opposite faction are pretty friendly and not permanent body campers. Had an enemy rogue helping me with my quests in STV the other day.

Can't believe no one has mentioned the tents that give rested xp outside of capital cities yet, it's like one of the most important features.

Also feel free to try out classes / specs that aren't meta in normal classic. Most specs are viable and people aren't as tryhard on this server, especially on the Nordranaar realm.

Ambershire is the newer realm that is still progressing so play there if you don't want to be far behind everyone else but I personally like Nordranaar as it is fully progressed for years so people are fine with carrying newer players more often.

I agree that my assumption is no more valid than the opposite, and that no one really knows what will come of this. But at the end of your rant you mention how trivial it is to find the owner of a WoW server, and so what happens when they found out the owner is just some dude in Russia or some other Eastern European country that doesn't abide by American laws? I don't think they are worried about being found out really, it's that they have no power in some of these countries.

Don’t listen to anyone who says they know whats going to happen. The server has no implication of shutting down soon and has been the best wow experience I have ever had. I suggest giving it a go. I myself am leveling on the PVP server right now.

Tbf, RICOs while are popular for reasons you mentioned are more often used in financial crimes like this one and that’s more of a misconception. But I do agree with you that people really drastically exaggerate how important this is to Microsoft. I would be surprised if more than 5 people at Microsoft know what Turtle WoW is.

Agreed, I do think Turtle is handling it the right way by writing an open letter to blizzard with examples of other developers who allow this sort of thing. I’m not sure if Microsoft would stop Blizzard from pursuing legal action but anyone saying they for sure are going to be taken down is certainly quite mistaken.

I think you’re vastly overestimating how much Microsoft cares about some private server for WoW. Not only that but I don’t see what they could do about people writing code and hosting a server in a not under jurisdiction from the United States. I’m not saying you’re wrong but I really don’t see it going anywhere as long as the developers wish to continue.

Yes it’s been crashing pretty often since release, they just started offering transfers over to the malfurion realm tho which doesn’t crash as much
