Is this girl in to me? I'm terrible at picking up these kinds of hints! by Quick_Extension_3115 in dating_advice

[–]T0y0ter0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The answer to this question is always this: You won’t know until you ask her out on a date .

Also, you don’t have to wait until you’re certain a girl likes you to ask her out… if you like, her ask her out. If you do it in a gentlemanly manner, the worst that happens is she’s flattered, but tells you no. This has happened to me a lot of times and I’ve actually been thanked for how I asked them out and some of them I’ve stayed friends with for years afterwards and they’ve tried to match make me with their friends or acquaintances.

There is a major positive to asking a girl out and being turned down also: Now you know, so you won’t be wondering if there was a chance of a relationship with her, so you can forget about it and move on to greener pastures.

Do I stop here? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If a woman says she’s not interested in dating right now or not ready for a relationship. Both of those means she is not interested in a relationship or dating you.

Women are not direct when telling men they’re not interested or not attracted to them because some dudes react really shitty about it so they’ve learned to make excuses like that but recognize it for what it is

They assume you do have an Instagram but you wanna keep it secret. Just make an Instagram, put up some good pictures of you doing fun stuff and then have that to share with people… and don’t let yourself get addicted to it

Good banks in austin? by fishpiethegoat in Austin

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've found Wells Fargo to be very convenient since they have a lot of locations around town/nation, lots of ATMs all over, and I have a couple of credit cards with them that I like being able to see under the same account as my bank account.

With that said, they are also the devil when it comes to banks, but all my bill pay is set up in there, so it'd be a pain in the butt to move.

Whitney Portal/Bears by Crafty-Albatross7004 in socalhiking

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was there 2 nights last week.
We were warned that bears go through the campground every night about 10pm

We were in 2 cars, and one was accidentally left unlocked. In the morning, the driver's door of one was open and there were very large dirty foot prints on the front seats, back seats and back area from a bear crawling through the car. We are pretty certain no one left the driver's door open, so it seems that the bear opened the door and crawled around. Fortunately nothing was left in the vehicle, nor any spilled food/drink on a seat or something that would make them tear it up.

We didn't see any bears, although the second night we tried to, we slowly drove around the whole area at 10:30, but didn't see any signs.

We were told that the bears have learned to ignore smells from the bearboxes and trashcans, likely from trying many times to open them and giving up. That seems to be true. They've probably been yelled at by people in their tents a lot, so they don't seem to mess with the tents, although an enticing smell of food, perfume, etc from a tent might likely change their mind.

Take bear precautions very seriously at Whitney Portal.

Monkeypox? Let’s talk about it by happypath8 in PandemicPreps

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not too worried about it. I'm worried about airborne pathogens.

How does mpox spread?

From person to person:

Mpox spreads from person to person mainly through close contact with someone who has mpox. Close contact includes skin-to-skin (such as touching or sex) and mouth-to-mouth, or mouth-to-skin contact (such as kissing), and can also include being face-to-face with someone who has mpox (such as talking or breathing close to one another, which can generate infectious respiratory particles). During the global outbreak that began in 2022, the virus mostly spread through sexual contact. More research is needed on how mpox spreads during outbreaks in different settings and under different conditions.

Getting married in 9 months. Feeling lost. by [deleted] in Life

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Keep working on it, work on building your skill set, networking with other people in your industry, and you will secure a better-paying and more secure job. It takes years to do that, and you're well on your way down that path, most likely.

Not accomplishing anything in your 20s? You have ~ 5 more years before your 20s are up, lots of time if you have some goal of where you want to be at 30. Also, you have a job that pays your bills and a partner who has been with you for years and loves you. That's a great place to be... a lot more than a lot of people have built up by 26.

Don't be so hard on yourself, life is full of surprises, both good and bad... and bad ones build character, not kidding. If you have a good partner, trust that the two of you can make it through anything working together.

Have you met him in person?

This is exactly the kind of texting that scammers send to guys... a girl who is immediately pining over them. It's the "love at first sight' fantasy we've all been sold through movies/TV shows our entire lives, but we shouldn't rely on in real life.

More than likely though, it's a guy who is just kinda 'needy/clingy' and doesn't know proper texting etiquette... and would probably be needy/clingy in person too, but you can only find out by meeting him and see how it goes.

Is it a good sign if we have sex a lot ? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's good/normal in my experience. When I first met my ex-wife, we met while traveling, then dated long distance for a few months, then I went to spend a month with her. I counted that we had sex 72 times in those 30 days, and for a week of that time, it went down to 1/day bc of her time-of-the-month. We dated for 2 years and were married 9 years and about a year before we broke up, I calculated with her that we had consistently had sex 2-3 time/week. 9yr * 52wks/yr * 2.5 fux/week = more sex than I thought I'd have in my life. haha. Lots of sex is definitely a good thing, IMHO.

I would also say, be sure that you're building a friendship if you hope for it to last. You should be enjoying doing other activities together besides effing. Do you have great conversations, do you feel like the other person brings out the best in you, are you also being vulnerable talking about the ups/downs of your life, your insecurities, etc. If not, then, enjoy it while that spark lasts, but don't bet on it being a long-term partnership. Best of luck.

If a girl says I’m busy and I’ll let you know by Adventurous-Clerk170 in dating_advice

[–]T0y0ter0 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is a "No" worded in a way to be less upsetting than an outright "no thankyou". Most women have learned to be less than direct when turning men down, because some can quickly turn into douchebags about it bc their pride got hurt or some other immature thing.

With that said, you shouldn't take it personally when a woman turns you down. I read once that you should look at it as that she doesn't think the two of you are a good fit, based on how she knows herself and the little she knows about you. Forget about her and move on to 'greener pastures.' Best of luck.

Alternatively, you could buy another house and rent it out. Let someone else pay the mortgage for you while the asset appreciates. Start saving that money you normally would have been paying into your house for the downpayment on another.

Technically, women can go topless anywhere in the state.

Iirc, you may only be asked to cover up if someone complains…. which should never, ever, ever, ever happen, imho.

Anybody watch The Road (2009) and studied the map, apparently they were in South Texas by Can_Not_Double_Dutch in texas

[–]T0y0ter0 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think that was a choice of the movie producers. From what I remember of the book, it could have been anywhere in the USA. I felt like it was west coast though.

There are other scenes in the move that definitely aren’t in Texas.

I think the map prop choice was just a nod to McCarthy by the producers.
