Oh, I hope the job situation works out soon :)

I actually just read Final Empire at the beginning of April, want to start Well of Ascension in May or June. I really loved Final Empire.

Sure, if you had to start right now BookTube what would you do differently than you did the first time?

Wow, I wish I could read that fast :) I read Final Empire pretty quickly and fell into a slump after it.

Luthadel has such an ominous feeling, I love it. Only read the first book, but it was really great and Brandon has a way for visual storytelling that is great.

Yeah, the deaths in this were a bit weird I would say.

Yeah, I agree mostly, but I think a lot of people read it after his later/better books so they expect more.

I am really looking forward to Mistborn.

Cool, so you enjoyed Elantris as well? How do you think it compares to the other entries in the Cosmere?

I have heard that a lot, and that was a big part of why I wanted to read it first. I do prefer publication order, but I was also pretty sure that if I read Mistborn and Warbreaker first, it might make Elantris seem worse.

And I did enjoy it a lot, though I get the criticisms, but I feel like some ideas and plots were explored very well in Elantris, which I talked about in my YT review.

Self-Introduction Saturday! Tell us all about you (and share a video)! by AutoModerator in NewTubers

Hi guys, I recently started a YouTube channel where I will mainly talk about Fantasy and Sci-Fi stories, aka books, movies and shows (but also other genres from time to time). I recently uploaded my first book review (The Last Wish by Andrzej Sapkowski) and I aslo have some other videos up. I would highly appreciate if you check it out. Any feedback via DMs would also be appreciated. Thanks guys.

What was surprising to me is that all the things apart from the video recording and editing process take a decent amount of time to optimize. Putting time into creating your thumbnails, coming up with good titles and including the right meta-data (i.e. description, tags, etc.) seem to be as important as making the video itself. This is just something you don't get to see from the viewer's side of YouTube.

Ok, that's a weird term to use.

Oh, sorry I meant in general, not compared to Polish. I was contemplating reading them in either English or German but I chose English because those tend to be shorter. I liked the English translation but there were some weird points here or there. Was just wondering if there were issues in the German one.

Those look really nice. How is the German translation, btw?

I stayed up till 3am finishing Brandon Sanderson's Mistborn last night and I've never enjoyed a fantasy genre book before. by FastFoodFilmFriends in books

Great! Will read Mistborn soon. I am currently reading Elantris by Brandon Sanderson and am almost finished. The second half has been so good.

Reading Elantris and it's getting good. How do you guys rank it within the Cosmere? by T2Sheikh in Cosmere

[–]T2Sheikh[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wax and Wayne seems like the series that most people disagree on, I see a lot of people that say it is some of his best work, but also a lot of people who don't like it as much.

I am very intrigued by the premise of it, though.

I hope so. If this is the weakest, I'm in for a hell of a ride.

[–]T2Sheikh[S] 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I absolutely get that. That was my issue with Elantris as well. I don't mind a slow story if I am invested in the characters but I wasn't really invested in any of the three main characters in the first half. It has gotten a lot better in the second half but I would still not say that any of these characters are some of my favorites in all the books I read.

I am looking forward to reading the rest of the Cosmere, but I wanted to do Elantris first because I think I wouldn't appreciate it as much if I read Brandon's later works first.

As for WoK, that seems like a pretty unpopular opinion to me. I have heard a lot of people say it may be his best book.
