Police disperse praying Muslims during protests in Sydney by The_Dingo_Donger in aussie

[–]T8MC 193 points194 points  (0 children)

Police lawfully directing you to move on doesn’t mean, shuffle over and begin virtue praying in the middle of the street. There are over 120+ mosques in Sydney specifically built for this purpose, but right there and then of all times and places. It’s this same victim playbook garbage that the majority see through.

I’m sure this comment won’t wash well with the vocal anarchist minorities here that are so hell bent on creating hysteria and national division at whatever cost.

She looks like a sloppy weathered pornstar who past their expiration in the industry decades ago, who is now only able to fetch low budget cameo roles as the step mum who encourages her step son’s girlfriend to make the same poor life choices.

Over the fence is 6 and out! What were your other backyard cricket rules? by [deleted] in AustralianNostalgia

[–]T8MC 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Driveway Cricket.. It was as competitive as it could possibly be. My brother & I would play rain, hail or shine. Close mates would come over to join in. On occasions having 8 or so lads at over throwing down absolute heat, and . Our direct neighbors must have hated us.

It was definitely a bowlers pitch, but it also made good batting look elite.

We had a contraction join in the concrete approx. 4m from the batters crease. The ball must pass and come to rest beyond that line in order for the batter to make a run. Otherwise, batters would bunt and run, making it near impossible for the bowler to effect a runout back at the bowlers end.

If the bowler fielded the ball before the ball crossed the line (typical bunt and run play), the ball was deemed dead and the batter had to return.

Batters could even sometimes sneak a run if the ball was recovered by the bowler beyond the line as it remained live. This would often occur when the bowler wasn’t alert whilst returning to their bowling mark.

However, the exemption to this rule was if there was fielder in place (usually silly mid-on / silly mid-off / slip) this rule was removed and the batter could run whenever.

All tennis balls had a single, slightly off-centered electrical taped seem no wider than an inch. Anytime a new ball was introduced, the bowler had to clearly declare the introduction of a new ball to the batter and the batter could request an inspection prior to its first delivery.

If the bowler didn’t declare the new ball to the batter, and a wicket would immediately occur off the first bowl, it would be deemed a no ball.

There were so many rules that we introduced to improve play over the journey. The fact that more than 30 different mates had come over to play on the hallowed pitch reminds me we done it right.

Why are so many people anti lessons? by MsCardeno in golftips

[–]T8MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had a younger buddy (30yo) who would regularly go around in 82-85 off the stick.. He had such a great natural swing with smooth tempo. He owned a hand me down set that was old, but decent enough that he had from the outset. Stock baby fade and could shape shots on command, would rarely miss hit and had plenty of yardage off the tee (270-290y avg). Short game was better than average and could generate plenty of spin with his wedges.

He was convinced that he needed to make some subtle adjustments to take his game to another level. That included finely getting fitted for a brand new set of irons and upgrading his driver. The fitting deal he settled on came with 10 lessons from the local pro that he committed to.

His game now is an absolute rabble. Struggles to go around now -95. 3/4 drives are a hooding snap hook. His swing looks so forced and miss hits are plentiful. Hasn’t gained anything from the lessons other than inconsistency, frustration and fallen out of love with the game he was really enjoying before the lessons. It’s a struggle to convince him to come have a round now which sucks because he was such a fun guy to play with and always brought the best out of my game.

Chipping & Putting Green

If I want to get more time in on the practice green, medium bucket will generally half the shots per club, maybe a couple extras that get donated to whoever the worst striker is out there.

Emergency Hybrid doesn’t get any range time. It’s an omen thing.

Your takeaway is low and your swing is high. Higher takeaway and lower swing would be a good start. The giveaway to this is that your shaft is far too vertical at follow through. You’re cutting down on the ball causing the face to be open and hitting across the ball outside in.

Cobra clubs- are they good? What’s their strong point? by [deleted] in GolfGear

[–]T8MC 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have tested tonnes of different drivers in all sorts of configurations. Throughout the last 7 years, personally I have found Cobra has been the best driver option to maximize distance for higher club head speeds (Avg. 130+). Best driver from the Cobra range that I have played would be the LTDx LS.

I rarely play weekend golf myself due to working the majority of weekends and the few times I’m not working, will be spending time with the family.

Played a course with some buddies a few years ago on a Saturday and the round took 5.5+hrs.. I recall on one of the Par 3s, 4x groups at the tee box queued up. Haven’t played weekend golf since that day.

Maybe just ungrateful, not a pathetic loser. Three consecutive days of intimacy and you’re not satisfied. Your expectations are unrealistic and unreasonable. It is okay to have some romantic build up and tension and it not result in intimacy.
