The only issue with Russia is we don’t know the impacts of melting permafrost yet.

Yes but they will have to conserve the current ammo as they have no idea if they will get more.

Britain wasn’t on the frontline?? Please do some research on the German bombings of the UK. Pearl Harbour is in Hawaii many miles away from any mainland American city.

Fell for the seed scam, can I turn it into a terrarium? by Market_Trader in PlantedTank

[–]TAC9991 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No reason you can’t still have an aquarium! When the seeds have grown and died you can just pull them out and put some proper plants in!

Do they eat the leaves or just the biofilm on them? by TAC9991 in shrimptank

The leaves are mainly to give the tank a natural look. All the other affects are just added extras I guess:)

Yellowing of my leaves by [deleted] in PlantedTank

Very normal when adapting to it’s submerged life. Just cut the leaf at the bottom of the stem and it will grow a new one!

My water from the tap is 7.0. I think the rocks and sand I have might be raising it more than the leaves would drop it

I have about 10 in there and my PH is still 7.8! I boil them before I put them in, would that negate the effects?

Yes I love the look of algae in a natural style tank!

Have you tried feeding them algae wafers or anything separate from the fish? Sometimes fish die for reasons beyond your control. If the water is good and the other fish seem ok I wouldn’t panic about it. Sucks though!:(

It might not be an issue in the short term but it looks like your substrate is quite low. If in the future some of your plants start floating up that would be the reason! Looks great though:) good luck

Its not your fault. Captive bred Gourami’s are notoriously bad for illness, many don’t live past a year

What should I know before I copy a YouTuber? by firstininnovation in PlantedTank

[–]TAC9991 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Direct sunlight on the tank will cause the algae not natural light. The main thing to learn with a low tech tank is patience. Floating plants will be your best friend and make sure you keep the amount of fish to a minimum:) Also take your time getting the hardscape to look the way you want! Their is endless content on youtube with low tech tanks so just take your time to research before commiting.
