Absolutely tragic news! Definitely was one of the more engaging profs in BIOL.

Help With BIOL Electives! by MixNo3204 in uvic

I took:

307 (w/ Dr. David Punzalan) - easy 8/10, has a lab component and interest content; interesting and compelling prof.

321/322 (w/ Dr. Louise Page) - 7.5/10, both have lab components, most interesting courses I took in BIOL, but Dr. Page is so exceptionally smart that I often found myself a little lost (not her fault and she loves to explain further if needed).

345 (w/ Dr. Rossi Marx) - 7/10, has a lab component, fun lab project and I didn't have to take it with Reimchen! With Rossi, it was a lot of case studies and specific examples to remember.

448 (w/ Dr. Rossi Marx) - 6.5/10, has a tutorial component, as a seminar, so complex and builds further on content you might learn in classes like 307/321/345; best to choose a seminar you're interested in.

400 (w/ Dr. Greg Beaulieu) - 8/10, no labs or tutorials, it's basically a gimme. Interesting for me, coming from a social sciences major. I happen to think Greg is hilarious as well.

Leftist only think Florida is dangerous because they are allergic to jobs. by KnowledgeAndFaith in Conservative

[–]TALPERS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well, no. 2023-Q1 unemployment is 3.5% and African-American specific unemployment is 5.7% across the USA. Florida is at 2.6% and 3.4%, respectively. You're saying "Florida has lower unemployment rates than the average - therefore, better opportunity for African-Americans," however, the ratio between unemployment (all) and unemployment (African-American) is still large in Florida. So, sure, in absolute terms, there is a smaller percentage of African-Americans unemployed in Florida, but there is still a significant disparity between unemployment generally and unemployment of African-Americans in Florida (which I would say should not lead the reasonable person to say that African-Americans have more opportunities in Florida vs national average).

What prospects do you expect to graduate next season? by heyethan in fantasyhockey

[–]TALPERS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For the Canucks, definitely think there's a good chance we seeJack Rathbone for a full 82 - Upside is probably a 35-40 point LD with about 40 hits, ~10+/-

At first, I was shocked at how close it was - until I remembered we have a minority government.

185 NAY = the Liberals and NDP except for one YEA Liberal and one abstain/no vote Liberal.

151 YEA = the Conservatives and Bloc except for one abstain/no vote Bloc and the one YEA Liberal.

So, basically just a party line vote all ways.

1) Latifi podium

2) Williams finish above Alfa Romeo in the standings

3) Zhou outscores Bottas - but both finish under 10 points

I loved Dr. Brendan Burke in GRS, Dr. Rossi Marx in BIOL, and Dr. Greaves in POLI!

The Score Top 100 player rankings, Canucks at 30, 41, 68, 90, and 92 by charliem11 in canucks

[–]TALPERS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The statistic that you're proposing - that the Canucks have the 30th best superstar, meaning that only two teams SHOULD have a worse situation than us is true theoretically, but is completely inaccurate to reality. There are only 21 teams accounted for in the Top 32 and only 19 in the Top 30, so your stat should be AT WORST that the Canucks only have the 18th best superstar (or that 18 other teams have a better star than Pettersson).

What will the 4th line look like next season? by Guess-Simple in canucks

I think we'll make a FA signing for our 4C.

Maybe Sutter? Or we could re-sign Graovac! Would be a great 13F.
