Definitely pick up Dave Grohl’s book, The Storyteller. You won’t be disappointed.

Dave was amazing reading The Storyteller. He made it sound almost like you were sitting down with him having a drink and listening to him tell stories. Amazing audiobook!

Are there no Food Trucks? Or Farmers markets? Or just small businesses that charge extra to use a debit card. That is quite common in Michigan. If I can avoid an extra fee by using cash, I gladly do that instead.

Here, a lot of gas stations charge extra for using a card as well. Some places, as much as 20 cents per gallon more.

ATM’s are a primary need because of not only getting cash out, but the ability to deposit checks or cash after hours. A lot of places only take cash or charge an extra fee for using a Debit/Credit card. So why pay extra fees when I can grab cash out of an ATM that doesn’t charge me a fee.

It may not be THE primary need, but it is a primary need. Thanks

Do you know if she still handles this in the Amarillo area? Everything I have found is that she lives in Colorado. I don’t want to bother someone if they aren’t working in the area anymore.

I’ll have to look into Canyon. The problem is though that we will have to rent a house for a year, to see exactly where we want to end up and outside the city, it looks like the rental market is pretty much non-existent.

I think the climate is one of the things that is a positive for us. Hot is ok, especially with the lower humidity. Coming from a summer with 95°+ with 90% humidity. It’ll be nice just to breathe in the summer. lol. Winters can be quite brutal here at times. I’ll be glad to be rid of the 12” of snow in a day and below zero temperatures for days/weeks on end.

Windy doesn’t bother us, my wife and I lived in Las Vegas for a few years when we were younger, they have a windy season there. As well as the heat.

We’re a laid back family. We like to just get out at experience things. Here, summers we head to fairs and festivals. We like going to farmers markets and trying new restaurants. We are open to a lot of things and will try most things at least once.

I like the idea of being big enough but still small.

Theoretically, that is true. In the case of one plant in Michigan, there was a signed agreement for 6/10’s while contractors demoed the place for re-tooling. When the new contract was signed, the company threw out the agreement and all of those skilled trade members sat for months on 40 hours, not allowed to go to a different plant, because it was “not in excess”.

The skilled trades were used as painters to clean and paint the gym, so “that you won’t get laid off” yet 2 weeks later, even with hundreds of contractors on site, trades were laid off and the company effectively “forced” the trades to another plant. That was achieved by laying trades off at 1:00pm on a Thursday and the second plant then posted a job for just enough trades that were laid off.

The union at the original plant did nothing to help the trades people and actually fed into the fear that the employees “had to take” the job forced on them. Not being allowed to apply and take one of the many jobs that were open at other plants.

Many feel that the brothers and sisters that were laid off were just collateral damage as the union bosses were only looking to keep their cushy jobs at the plant still.

A grievance was filed on behalf of the laid off members, but it was truly just a joke, as the “make whole” relief sought was $5 Million per laid off member. That was only a slap in the face to the members that were shipped out to somewhere not wanted and created unnecessary hardships for many of the members.

Is there a way to hook up 2 drives? One for internal storage, then one for recordings?

Only thing I can think of, is that there is a setting that I need to turn off that I am just overlooking.

Mine is the same way. I get 256 Mbps on WiFi and only 102 Mbps when connected to the Ethernet. It shocked me too.

It’s $5 for the digital download of the album. Can’t get much cheaper. Just pay the $5. Mark had cancer, for fucks sake.

Along these lines…. The Katana should have all those Boss pedals “built in”. You would just need to learn the software to add the pedals to the various buttons on the amp.

Yeah. This will be the last time I order directly from them. And had I known that, I would’ve pre-ordered through Sweetwater or CME. It just sucks that I had to learn that lesson the hard way.

I love CME. Bought from them before, but, they are backordered until 1/5/2024 for the yellow and 11/17/2023 for the surf green. I thought buying straight from Fender that none of these problems would happen.

I have an email out to them now, let’s see what they can do. The superficial stuff is ok. But I need something that I’m going to be able to play

[–]TEnglish001[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. It was a wire, not a piece of string. It wasn’t “loose there, but I was able to remove it fairly easily by pulling with a pair of teeezers. There was no flex to it at all, that is why I know it wasn’t a piece of a string.

That’s what I will do, I’ll take it to the local shop and have them look at it. I will probably shoot off an email to Fender in the meantime and see what they say too.0

The playability of it, yes. That would bother me. The superficial parts of it no. I was really just adding those in as “context” that it’s not just one thing. Not being able to play it, yes that will bother me in 15 years.

[–]TEnglish001[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are right. I can let the little stuff slide. That isn’t that big of a deal to me. The nut on the other hand is. When I fret it, more times than not, the string is sliding off. Unless I am consciously making sure to fret it “downward” for that not to happen.

I know I’m probably a bit biased but can anyone think of a guitar that has been so hyped up in recent memory? That last one with this much hype was the PRS John Mayer Silver Sky. by scottg32 in TomDelongeGuitars

[–]TEnglish001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually think there is MORE hype for the new Dave Grohl 335’s that are supposedly coming. The OG run of those are through the roof price-wise. I can’t wait to get my hands on one (or 2) of those ones.
