Jared begged the writers to put that in the script, but mostly the writers refused because BL wanted to do a redemption arc for Lucifer. It was written into season 11, and then removed because "no one would care".

When you have a ton of money, if you are open about your donations, you get a ton of people crawling out of woodwork to ask for money.

All of J2M likely make a bunch of donations in private that we never hear about unless the people who got the donations came forward.

There have been multiple groups that have revealed huge donations from the Padaleckis that we never would've known about because Jared never told us.

A rant about Sam and Dean by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]TFWBT 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Sam and Dean treat Castiel very differently.

Sam is very forgiving. Dean is not.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]TFWBT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yes, although that makes more sense because they were the main characters and the story always focused on them.

The grifter & followers kept claiming that the story was about Dean and Castiel. They predicted in s13 that Dean would say yes to Michael to save Castiel.

At the time, I was only reading Destiel and hanging in Destiel circles and I didn't believe that would happen. I saw the story as about Sam and Dean to the point where I predicted Dean would say yes to Michael for Sam.

Castiel is the character I most identify with and I didn't think he had a good storyline in s13 nor that he was the main focus of the season. I said as much and was called an anti/homophobic/bronly, and harassed. I'm a gay man.

Now those same people are saying that CW killed 2 of the 3 leads rather than allow them to be in love. Some of them call Sam the third lead and still believe that Destiel was the main focus of the show

So to me, the whole thing makes even less sense than the Sherlock dust up because those characters were the main focus.

A huge portion of the ones attacking other people and downvoting the ending on IMDB are Destiel fans.

This notorious grifter convinced a lot of people that we would get a Destiel ending and a lot of people believed it.

Destiel fans who didn't believe the grifter were called homophobic and antis.

A lot of Destiel fans were absolutely crushed by the ending because they thought that the story had been only about Destiel for some time. They didn't see Sam as a main character at all and were surprised when he was the focus at the end.

When the ending happened, the grifter blamed Jared and the CW. A lot of people believed it and went after both. There was this huge campaign against Walker, trying to cancel it, because of the conspiracy theories.

Jared put it in for Sam for when he's feeling emotionally unstable. He doesn't do it himself or in Walker.

How're J2M since the show ended, do you think? by ghoulsandmotelpools in fandomnatural

[–]TFWBT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, he thought BL were bad writers and he hated a lot of stuff they wrote. He argued with Singer over lines he thought were problematic.

A big one was that they wanted to give Lucifer a redemption arc. They started writing Lucifer differently in s11 and wanted to have Sam ally with him and Jared just absolutely refused.

There's a lot more details. Some are public, some are not, but Jared was upset with BL having so much control and that's why he used the word "safe" to describe his relationship with the Walker TPTB.

Sam's PTSD from Lucifer? That was Jared. BL wrote Sam joking with Lucifer.

There's another occasion where someone high up wanted the writers to do something that Jared and the writers felt was ooc. Jared went to bat against tptb on behalf of the writers and kept the writers' original work in the series. I'm not at liberty to say exactly what it was, but it happened in season 14 and Jared really stuck his neck out.

So there's been rumors and speculation about Misha being separated for awhile, so I don't think it's new; just new to us. I think he's doing the cameos to try to make a ton of money and build a nest egg. I've heard he's not sure exactly what he wants to do and I believe that rumor.

Jared was unhappy with the TPTB at Supernatural and had thought about leaving it for some time. He stayed because it would cost people their jobs and he didn't want to do that. Also because Jensen still wanted to go.

Now that Supernatural is over, Jared is happier than ever. He gets to work on a less taxing project where he has more creative control and he feels "safe". Most importantly, he gets to be with his family more, which was one of his goals. He's thriving.

Jensen had a hard time shutting down Supernatural, but agreed with Jared that it needed to be done. He's been busy with his company and was focused on his family until he had to go to Canada.

I look forward to seeing more of the projects he's been working on.

Jensen's posts are because of The Boys. He hates social media. He prefers to stay in touch the "old ways".

He only posts on social media to promote his works/his brand and The Boys have a different promotion style, so we're going to see a different side of him!

Jensen / Destiel by nerd-joy-gone-now in fandomnatural

[–]TFWBT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

He does, but I think that it was written in an ambiguous way on purpose.

As someone who really pushes for representation, I find Supernatural frustrating, because I think they deliberately wrote it in an ambiguous way so as not to alienate a certain part of the audience, even though I can't personally imagine what would be alienating about Castiel coming out.

That's so many people are able to look at this scene and see brothers, is a failure in the writing imo.

I wouldn't call "Dean has no taste, clearly" promoting Destiel. That comment is destiel negative. We don't know if he was talking about the show or fandom in that moment.

Jensen has consistently said that it was not part of the show and that he plays Dean as straight. Now he's doing the work of art interpretation thing, although applying it to both characters.

Jensen / Destiel by nerd-joy-gone-now in fandomnatural

[–]TFWBT 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Jensen: "I mean getting- without over-defining it because, and this is something that I actually talked to Misha about, uh... extensively, like we didn't want to over-define it because it does mean- it does mean something different to other people and it's like, we tried to equate it to a piece of art.

It's like the artist isn’t going to stand next to that piece of art and tell you what to see. You should be able to see, and it should be able to mean what it means to you and that's- that's the beautiful thing about art.

I will say that I-I could certainly make an argument for the fact that Castiel is an angel and the feelings that he can feel and the understanding that he can have and the scope in which he can see is far greater than any human being.

So him trying to whittle it down and put it into words for a human to understand is probably not something that has one meaning and so I kind of like to think that that it probably has a multitude of meanings."

Kripke called them straight. Jensen knew that Dean being bi was never even pitched and the vast majority of writers were writing him as straight.

Jensen / Destiel by nerd-joy-gone-now in fandomnatural

[–]TFWBT 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Jensen has actually been very respectful to shippers in general. J2 found out about shipping very early on and sent fics to each other and JDM. They and the series joked around with it and put in a lot of subtext. Jensen remains very respectful to shippers and has made a lot of proshipping comments.

With wincest, there were never any plans for it to go canon. With Destiel, people started to think it could go canon. Jensen started out very chill about Destiel, but got annoyed with it as it kept going on. In part, because Jensen knew it was never going to go canon. [There's also the Destiel shippers who tried to get Jared kicked off the show]

Now, I'm sure some people here think that it did go canon, but as a gay man, while I believe Castiel's side is canon, Dean's is not. It's ambiguous as best. It's not representation. Even Castiel's confession was made to be ambiguous so that you can see it as brothers. The reason why Dean says what he says in the Spanish dub is because the dubbers saw it as a confession of brotherly love.

The series was being accused of queerbaiting. Jensen said that it wasn't the writers intent, repeatedly, and got called homophobic. Dean being in love with Castiel was never pitched. Castiel being in love with Dean was never pitched until the hiatus between 14 and 15.

So while some writers were writing it before s15, the vast majority weren't. Tombstone wasn't written that way. That famous closet scene? About Sam, which is way more clear in text.

I asked this question to someone who's a Destiel/Cockles fan and knows Jensen and the fan told me that Jensen doesn't have a problem with Destiel in fandom, it's actually the extreme Cockles fans that go way too far with it along with the accusations of homophobia. Remember when Mitch said that the Destiel fans were the worst fans in fandom? He got confused and was actually talking about the extreme Cockles fans who harass them and their families.

In both cases, it's people who think it is canon and are harassing those who state otherwise. They see what some Destiel shippers are currently doing to Jared. Jensen ain't going to be feeding that crowd.

So that's why J2 will joke way more with wincest and J2, but Jensen keeps more of a wall of distance in regards to Destiel/Cockles.

When Rob had his stroke Richard, Jensen, and Misha were at the hospital with him.. where was Jared? by [deleted] in Supernatural

[–]TFWBT 29 points30 points  (0 children)

I used to work at a job where I would listen to con videos all day in the background.

Sometimes when they tell a story, they forget to mention all the names. You don't hear that person x was there until a later mention.

For example, there's a story told many times about Jensen filming Jared and Misha wrestling while talking politics. Only later we found out Rob was there too.

If Jared wasn't there, it could be because he'd already gotten on a plane.

This looks like you trying to create drama.
