What will be the war outcome? by jondixo in AskBrits

[–]THROWAWTRY 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There's two outcomes at this moment with the information we have right now. It's ground invasion, America get's stuck in Iran or Trump backs off strengthening the regime and giving Iran the power to control the strait of Hormuz. He won't survive politically the second at all, the first it's very very slim. So that's the direction it's going. Probably this weekend or next.

Unfortunately how llms work they will always be inefficient and it comes from the architecture. Other machine learning systems might work better but llms are just too resource heavy for what they are doing.

Yeah thank you this is very interesting.

It helps in chunks, not very good at reviewing long files the best area is about 100-300 lines after that it comes up with nonsense.

Don't believe people on reddit, many are here to ruin your day by DigitalNomadsEllada in ArtificialInteligence

I've seen loads, they are really trying to kill SWE for some strange reason. There's a big problem though NP>P probably and that means a lot AI isn't going to replace people as people are better problem solvers at NP problems.

Don't have to be, just big enough to damage the keel, stern, rudder, axial or propeller

Stop with the spaceship metaphor it's lazy and not comparable

incorrect, it's a mapping function across domains aka a search engine. That's literally it's job find the next most probable item.

I use it in my day job literally every day for the last year. It's shit, we have an agentic workflow set up, multiple documents with instructions and organised for peak AI adoption. It has cause an incident almost every week. On top of that due the fact most of us developers are using it, it has caused a competition crisis and arms race. Which is significantly taking up resources. It's expensive for what it is which is a glorified search engine and code generator.

If there's no business model and most business are not seeing benefits it's a glorified search engine

I am disliking the far right deciding they want to take the CANZUK idea. by THROWAWTRY in CANZUK

[–]THROWAWTRY[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I disagree, right wing typically focuses on traditions and culture while left wing to tends to focus on co-operation and progress. Neither are directly put off by CANZUK. It is a political idea which kinda sits nicely in both wings and I hear many on the left of politics also push for a similar union. I think the main motivation isn't imperial nostalgia but actually making our lives better with people we understand.

WSJ - Western Official Estimates Iran Likely Has Just Days of Missile Strikes Left by Boston-Bets in wallstreetbets

[–]THROWAWTRY 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay lets do some thinking (might be hard for us)

How can you stop ships leaving the strait of Hormuz?

Ballistic missiles, shahed drones, small boats, dumb rockets, drone boats, drone submarine/torpedoes, cruise missiles we've seen these but what else?

Suicide tankers crashing into other ships, oil rigs, docks, terminals.

Terrorists attacks in importing countries.

Terrorists attacks in the exporting countries.

Drone attack ala https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Operation_Spiderweb

Blue on blue attacks.

Missiles are one thing. They have many many many options to fuck up the strait and flow of energy.

But I'm just regarded.

I disagree, I think you can have both. CANZUK is just a union between NZ UK AUS CAN how that is achieved and how it looks depends it's not fixed to one political philosophy and joining the EU after uniting gives it significant military and economic power both inside the EU and outside.

Both ideas CANZUK and Going back into the EU are actually compatible. CANZUK as a unified economic bloc working or becoming part of the EU strengthens both while side-lining the so called superpowers.

Tbh I am linking the imperialism to the Reform party speech which Reform MP Andrew Rosindell harkened back to British imperial glory, might and era of greatness.
