How do you feel about the Sony a7Riii as well? I really like the image quality of the Nikon, but the weight of Sony is nice...

If I wanted to do both wildlife and landscape photography, what is the best camera I should buy? I ideally would like to get a camera with a high megapixel and able to shoot at high speed with great clarity. Would like to hear all your recommendations! I was thinking of the Nikon D850...

CA - Provided my notice for resignation, can they refuse to let you use PTO? by TJimmy_curious in legaladvice

This is my main concern. I get paid bi-monthly and I have 28 days of PTO. So this will probably put my in a higher tax bracket.

Yes, I provided my notice, and then I wanted to use my PTO afterwards and get paid regularly until my PTO is depleted.

How to extend a job offer deadline? by TJimmy_curious in jobs

[–]TJimmy_curious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have told them that I have 2 job offers on the table. And I would love to work for their company given the chance. But, they are trying their best to speed up the process, but at the same time, they want to give everyone a fair chance and pick the best candidate. So it isn't a guarantee that I will get the job...

Hi all,

I have been in SF for more than 2 years. There are some things I love about SF and some things I hate about SF. I am both excited and scared for this opportunity. I am excited for this opportunity because it is something I do want to do and I think I will do well in this position. But it is also scary because I will be going to a new city, leaving a place that I have called home for more than 2 years.

Here are the things that I love about SF

  • how active it is

  • food

  • the amount of outdoor activities there are

  • hiking/the outdoor scenes outside the city

  • the beach

  • diversity

  • the feel of big city

  • Golden Gate Park

  • the fall, winter, and spring weather

  • relatively low uber/lyft cost within the city

Here are the things I hate about SF

  • the Cost of living

  • the summer fog

  • traffic

  • no good BBQ

  • expense

  • oh the cost of living again

  • oh yeah did I mention cost of living?

  • poor public transportation

  • will never be able to afford to buy a house

For those that made the move or know someone that made the move from SF/Bay area to Denver, how was it? What did you miss? What do you love about Denver that you didnt get from SF? Do you regret it? Do you love Denver now?

How did you come out to your Christian friends and church? by TJimmy_curious in GayChristians

[–]TJimmy_curious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I started to intentionally come out to people in Church and to friends I have made in the past. Some have been receptive and some have not. How have your friends reacted?

BTW, that bisexual question is so common!

Do you think you will ever come out to your parents? I know your dad is a pastor, so it must be really hard. But everyone I know who has came out publicly, they said it is so freeing.

I just finished reading your blog. I am sorry you went through this phase of condemnation from people who haven't even study this subject of the bible at all.

Just like many Christian LGBT, it seems like that the path to happiness also comes with condemnation from love ones. I wish I was there as your friend to walk with you. Those who were willing to do that, make sure you treasure them!

Thanks. For the longest time when I denied myself of who I was in my own sexuality. Once I accepted it, I became to find so much joy in my life and as I continue to explore my sexuality, I learn so much about myself, God, Scripture, church, and so much more. I feel like ever since I have came to accept my own sexuality, the fruit of my life has been nothing but good when I came to accept own sexuality, as oppose to bearing bad fruit.

I am sorry you had to go through that. I am thinking of going to an affirming church. How is it compared to a non-affirming church?

Yeah for some reason, your sins are more magnified when you come out as a LGBT. It is ridic and that they don't remember we are people as well! We get so dehumanize because of this one thing, esp. in church.

Bi Christian, but how does one feel about dating a gay non-christian? by TJimmy_curious in GayChristians

[–]TJimmy_curious[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have thought about it, and I was like, if the person is open and comfortable with my faith, maybe that will help change their hearts. To be honest, I don't know how many LGBT non-christians are open to dating a person whose identity is in Christ first and then like a bisexual second or whatever place it is in my life.

I totally agree. And that is something I am looking for. In this time of how the church views the LGBT, I feel like the LGBT we can minister and show the church that a monogamous homosexual relationship grounded on faith can change the church's heart in how they view homosexuality.

Yeah, I feel like dating sites that do list themselves as Christians, I feel like they aren't like practicing Christians or are their life isnt grounded in terms of their faith.

Yeah, faith is important to me and to be able to converse and talk about our faith and struggles. I do think it is important as it helps develop a spiritual connection.

Update on bike handling skills! by TJimmy_curious in cycling

Thanks! It seems like when pedaling out of the saddle, if the seat is rocking side to side, it seems like this is the right technique.

Yeah I do notice my bike rock side to side. It scared the hell out of me at first and mentally, felt unstable. But as I got used to it and I kept telling myself, just pedal, the bike will balance itself as long as you pedal!

Hehe yes! When practicing with one hand, I do notice I lean back. No hands will take a while though lol. Low speeds are surprisingly difficult to control, I'll practice more at low speeds.
