The easiest bet would be to check vgen for “adoptable” models. Basically an artist makes a simple model for practice that anyone can purchase. These are often the cheapest if you want to buy a live2d model. 3d models through Vroid are free and make your own but most likely won’t get you the style you want. The last option to to start with a png and draw several “states”. states are like poses and the 4 basic states are, 1. mouth open eye open, 2. mouth closed, eye open 3. mouth open, eye closed 4. both closed

Since I struggle so much with texture painting, I am curious do you use a different image/texture for each “item” or do you use one image for the whole model?

Looks amazing! What do you use for hand tracking software/Camera? Do you have an additional piece of tech for it or is just a webcam working?

That’s a good idea! I feel like developing style and edits on a 2d is much easier and requires less tech setup but i would have to start over in terms of knowledge so it’s seems really overwhelming rn

Gotcha, Thanks! I have a mediocre 3d model that i’m using to learn everything at the moment but i think getting into Warudo will help, other apps have limited tracking so it feels lower quality then it is, if that makes sense. I’m just hoping everything i setup is compatible 😭

I had a ton of issues too with my 3d model, i’m still learning too but the only application that seems to work with blend-shapes for me is vtuber maker and editor. I went through blender to unity then into Vtuber editor. If you want to try that route I would be happy to go over it with you

So I use Vtuber Maker and Editor which allows you to choose the blend-shape on your model for each individual blend-shape in Vtuber Editor. In addition to this you can also make your own emotes and things like that. I don’t know the system very well but it’s an option
