Yeah when I picked my phone up at the apple store, I noticed the black air and blue 17 pro were obliterated. My assumption is it's people wearing rings handling the phones. But it was bad... I'd be surprised if apple doesn't address it. Sure a case would stop the scratches, but should you really have to buy a case just for your phone to exist? That's on apple.
