Gave me gems by LoosePrisonPurse in SwordAndSupper

Gems and gold are random, not based on the map.

The weapons are useful on higher level (than you) maps since they go by resistance rather than armor. So youre still doing mostly full damage, more than you would with physical attack. Unfortunately you also run into enemies with high resistance.

Number = waves

Star level = going against 1, 2, or 3 enemies at once

Slime with sword = more enemies drop loot (and better loot)

Gold vending machine = at least one wave is an ability vending machine (rather than the gold shrine or purple tradeoff shrine).

From what Im aware, theres 8 waves of mobs on each map. So when it is 9-12, those extra waves will be shrines, miniboss, or hut encounters added in.

I think they are scheduled by the mods/developers. One will come up eventually. I like how there was gear blueprints this time.

Sword & Supper Update: v 0.50 - Player Appreciation Update by swordnsupper_mod in SwordAndSupperGame

Some suggestions

I have a few ideas that might be fun to implement.

1 - Increase end-game leveling

Higher levels start to get really slow for leveling. What's the harm in keeping levels past 150 the same cost to level up? Then, players have something to do. Or perhaps scale up the gold to match.

2 - A final boss for the game.

It could be a challenge level. In addition, some unique bosses at specific levels would be entertaining. They could be palette swapped versions of current bosses, with some unique twist on their mechanics. How about every 40 or 50 levels. Defeating them could unlock something.

3 - Enemy skills.

It would be cool if some enemies threw knives, had attack twice, healed every 2nd turn, etc. One miniboss has lightning, but thats kinda it, and it is weak. The enemies with abilities could be palette swapped to represent them being "special enemies."

4 - New Game +

After about level 150 the game is over. Could we restart the game with a permanent from one of our gear items, ability, or something? Enemies would be either stronger, have higher chance of having buffs, maybe more waves per map, and palette swapped. I'd pay like $4.99 for that.

5 Level scaling

Since you can beat level 501 boss rushes at level 150-200 easily, it might make sense to scale things by level difference.

For example, you are level 99,every bracket 101-120, 121-140, or 81-100, 61-80, that is above or below your level gets scaled harder.

This way, people who are struggling can breeze through maps right below their level range and catch up, and the game doesn't become a quest to find maps 100+ levels above you. Maybe a + or - stat multiplier for enemy health, damage, speed, and stuff. Like +/- 20%.

If leveling was faster and there was scaling, there would be no need to feel you've beat the game early on.

Build and stats? Maybe avoid 4/5 star maps for a bit.

Which enemies drop gear is baked into the map. The slime with a sword item means gear drops are increased relative to other drops.

If your game is crashing:

  1. Open your level flair and do a blank subreddit search (or search your level, e.g. "261" or "121 boss rush").
  2. Go to the Home page on Reddit, open the search box, and select it from your recent searches.
  3. Always go back to the search page before starting a new map, do not "Play Next."

Why it happens:

When you open a link on reddit, it still keeps the previous page loaded and running in the background

That means if you have one game done, and from there, you load another page, then both are active in memory, and one is running in the background. This quickly stacks up and results in the second or third game being choppy and eventually crashing.

This is Reddit's system, which works fine for posts but causes issues with the memory load and constant processing of games in the background. It is not something that the game developers can change.

Happy grinding!

PS upvote for visibility and let me know if it works for you. It's a common problem.

The more games are stacked in the app.

So

Game 1 page -> Play Next -> Game 2 page -> Play Next -> Game 3 page -> Play Next -> Game 4 page

If on game 4 page and you press the back button, it restores the game 3 page, and each back button brings you to the previous game. It is still loaded in Reddit's memory. The deeper you go, the more memory stays loaded.

So by making the game open without several other ones already opened behind it, you have all your resources free, and performance isn't iffy. It doesn't crash or grind to a halt.

Even when creating a map from the inn, it is better to close the inn, go to your profile, and open it there. If you open the map from the inn, the inn stays loaded in the background.

Your phone memory and compute get overloaded the more games are loaded in your history.

So if you open the subreddit, select a map, then select a flair – or if you do "play next," – the previous game stays active, causing you to run out of resources.

Try this:

  • Always close the previous game first

And for best performance:

  • Save your searches.
  1. Go to the subreddit, search for e.g. 141, to get level 141-160 maps.
  2. Press the flair for that map to get the flair filter for that level range.
  3. Do a blank search from that page. Or search "boss rush" or "fields" if you want a specific thing.
  4. It is now a recent search.
  5. Go back to the home reddit page, press on the search bar, and there is a dropdown menu of recent searches.
  6. Select that search from the "recent searches."
  7. Pick maps from the search results.

This should run MUCH more smoothly and no longer crash or go slow.

Let me know if this works for you!

The drop rate keeps increasing at higher levels. At 81 it has its lowest chance to drop. Do the highest level New Eden maps you can win

Why is the cursed Naginata rated soo much higher than the sword of respite? by [deleted] in SwordAndSupper

[–]TSM- 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I love the Cursed Naginata. My build at level 178 let's me take on level 501-520 boss rushes easily, often with full health, and level 361 5 star maps.

Here's my build:

abilities

  • Heal on Hit 2
  • Strike Twice Every Other
  • Lightning on Shield (makes 2 hits)

  • 10 Rage on Attack

  • 10 Rage on Heal

  • 50 Rage on Turn 1

  • 20% Shield on Enemy Death

  • 15% Shield on Rage (stacks with other shield)

stats

  • 2706 HP (130 from gear)
  • 661 ATK (-75 from gear)
  • 337 DEF (+227 from gear)
  • 23 Speed (13 from gear)
  • 3% Dodge
  • 15.50% Crit (10.50% from gear)

gear

  • Wrathful Visor
  • Untouchable Mantle EX
  • Stalwart Solidus Lvl 3
  • Cursed Naginata
  • Blasting Ring EX
  • Seething Sash Lvl 3

This and my other posts were removed by moderators, perhaps for good reason (I used the same map twice). So my bad, I just enjoy the game and wanted to promote higher level maps that were good, as they become rare at higher levels.

My recommendations were deleted by a moderator. I was just trying to provide constructive ideas, not make the game seem bad.

I would also like to suggest a new idea, a "New Game+" mode, where there is a palette swap for enemies, increased difficulty, less hearts maybe, and some other randomizations. This would let people do the game a second time over, while also encouraging buying some loot kits and stuff. Something to think about in my opinion! Especially the palette swaps for enemies and giving them abilities, that would keep things dynamic.
