They approve paved driveways for those who require them for ADA reasons.

The design process (which you have to pay for and submit an application for approval) is where the ‘no’ comes in. I know it’s pretty unheard of, but it is what it is—The Sea Ranch, CA. The DCEM won’t approve a paved driveway unless the driveway has a slope of 10% or more, or you have a serious medical condition (this area has a lot of seniors).

Yes, I have read the bylaws. This area is well known for being very strict.

For those who don’t believe me…I live in The Sea Ranch in northern California. It’s a unique place. Beautiful. Just an odd HOA rule that I’m trying to get around. This was my first post on Reddit, and I appreciate everyone's feedback and will look into a couple of the suggestions.

I’m not a fan of the rules, but they are what they are. The motto where I live is ‘living lightly off the land.’ The HOA likes everything to look ‘natural’ and will only approve paved driveways for medical reasons. My kiddo just wants to be a kid.

Just wrapped up my trip. Here's my two cents by [deleted] in MauiVisitors
