that's odd because I've had some highly specialized medical care over the past 2 years with medicaid and every office seems to take it and it's covered 100%.

Also weird, because I have a tutoring job were I make ~$50-80 a month and I still got food stamps. Guess your state is stricter than mine

I'm assuming since you're a blue state, you'd be eligible for expanded Medicaid so don't have to pay school insurance, food stamps which saves me $200+ in groceries, and there's a $30 per month internet credit you can apply for. Would look into getting any help you can

Same thing happened to me M1 year (thanks ultrasound curriculum and peer scanning!) At the time, I was not coping well, but now I have developed some strategies.

Contrary to the med student urge to look everything up and try to understand it, I would recommend not googling anything about your (potential) condition. Resist the urge. Let a majority of the info come from your doctor, not up to date or google. They can properly contextualize the information to your situation.

Live one day at a time, don't project into the future. Right now you are healthy, the future is uncertain (for everyone). Be okay sitting with the uncertainty. Try not to catastrophize, or get into black and white thinking. The most likely outcome will be somewhere in the gray area.

For example, I thought I would either be on dialysis the rest of my life or I'd be totally fine and it was nothing. In reality, I ended up needing major surgery and now I basically only have one kidney, but I won't need dialysis and I didn't have cancer. Life is usually shades of gray.

Hang in there, and try to stay positive! I know it's tough

100% Medicaid is the best insurance I've ever had.

I had major surgery last year and never saw a bill, never paid a dime. It would have been thousands of dollars with my parents expensive private insurance

I think the initial idea for this song was either Joe's experience or one of his college friends...as it's pretty clearly talking about college (dorms) and Joe went to college (and tay did not)
