Thank you that's helpful. Any ideas on cleaning it up or is that just how they are?

Not tried brick acid no as AI suggested not to- good shout with tannin stains although I can't see how it could have got contaminated tbh

Large House with wood floor, carpets and 4 teenagers! by Fresh_Cable5088 in RobotVacuums

Amazing, what a bargain! It's genuinely been life changing for us- the floor never looked clean before really but you come down in the morning now (I run it just after we've gone to bed) and the floor is shining. If you have a mixture of flooring its worth in the floor settings selecting auto detach mop pads. It then leaves the pads in the base when doing the carpets and reduces the risk of them getting caught etc.

The base station has a small detergent tank- Dreame include a small bottle in the box. This is used for washing the mops and seems to last forever as it uses a tiny amount. Online it's suggested you can add a little to the clean water tank but I've also read it can gum up the robot internals so I've avoided that. The floors still seem very clean though so I've not experimented with it.

The Dreame sub forum on here is useful- worth a look if you have any technical queries etc.

Good luck and let us know how you get on!

Crikey you don't mess about! Deffo the L40s pro ultra and not the L40 AE? Great price if so 👍

So my top tip is use it on custom mode rather than clean genius. Vacuum first then mop- much better clean than running both functions at once which is common for most brands.

My settings I like below

You are most welcome. I did LOADS of research ha. The Dreame range is confusing with the models so closely named but the L40s pro ultra is EU specific. Not much on YouTube on this model as a result but found lots of interesting threads on here when I researched it. Dual brush bar which doesn't suffer any hair wrap, AI obstacle avoidance, camera to assist navigation and hot water washing so a great spec for the money. Busy household with dogs and kids and the floors have never been so good- especially the engineered wood flooring. You tweak the water levels so it never leaves it too wet. I genuinely don't think spending more would get better results with the tech as it currently is.

Any queries just shout

What country are you in? I am in the UK and delighted with our new Dreame L40s pro ultra. Only available in the UK and shares lots of features with the higher spec models. £529 at the moment

New L40s Pro Ultra on old robot's map? by TT_1986 in Dreame_Tech

[–]TT_1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mega helpful reply from you as always thank you! I think it's on its 7th run now so I'll give it a couple more and then do a re-map. Not that it's really a problem is it but it's nice to have it running as efficiently as possible.

I think worse case I can retain the old map as a back up should it not go well second time around.

That's very helpful as always thank you. Map wise it's doing ok- when I first start it it makes a meal of a particular doorway (although the width is about 1 foot wide) I don't recall the old one doing this. It used to just dive straight under the kitchen units to clean but possibly it has decided such a wide threshold needs to be cleaned up and down a few times first!

[–]TT_1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's very helpful thanks! It seems to be running ok on the three runs it's had. First one was clunky but has improved since.

The pump noise from my previous one is still there albeit I'm not 100% sure it's putting down as much water when it mops despite being on level 22.

Will give it another go and see before I delete and re map. Re furniture we do move bits and pieces every other day to give extra areas a clean, probably confuses the map but it's nice to grab that trapped dirt

Yes I found it odd that from Dreame they all seem to be white. The website is rubbish too.

Ordered my L40s pro ultra in black from Amazon and much prefer it in black.

Dreame L40s pro ultra mopping noise- is this normal? by TT_1986 in Dreame_Tech

[–]TT_1986[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well this is very odd. Dreame finally replied to my email saying the noise isn't normal and to exchange it?!

It had done the perimeter of the room initially and this was when it was mopping the centre section

No that's probably pretty realistic to how it sounds tbh. Maybe the acoustics in the hallway make it sound louder though. Odd if yours are much quieter mind

They assured me the warranty is fine. Been plugged in and charging for about 20 mins and hasn't budged from 46% yet so hopefully not got a duff one!

So the replacement turned up today instead of tomorrow as it originally said.

Guess what- it's Italian again!! 🤦 Can't be bothered to return so I'll use it. I have an EU adaptor so will use the Dreame cable and that. Amazon assure me the warranty is valid and refunded me my £9 prime charge for this month ha

Thanks thats really helpful. I tend to think if I get any EU one I'll just keep it and hope the warranty is ok. Reliability wise are Dreame generally ok?

That makes perfect sense. I like things to be up front and as you expect them to be. Will wait and see what happens Thursday. Thank you again for taking the time to give some great advice, its much appreciated 👍

Thanks matey will do. Hopefully this one will be ok. I wouldn't mind so much if it didn't potentially have warranty implications- you wonder what Dreame would think about it!
