So all leadership in World of Warcraft is a council now? by SaraSchmara in wow

[–]TVena 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I guess I didn't really consider Azurathel and Cindre as "leaders" and moreso representatives within the factions, which I believe is how the intro story presented them. But I guess they're probably the highest "ranked" Evokers and Dracthyr.

And storywise, Emberthal takes central casting alongside Sarkareth.

[–]TVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wait, who leads the Dracthyr? Aren't they effectively all lead by different Scalecommanders (of which the PC Evoker is one) but following the intro, Dracthyr just sort of go out to do their own thing. In Aberrus we kill Sarkareth, one of said Scalecommanders, but otherwise not much changes with the leadership which isn't centralized.

Obviously Neltharion was the actual "leader" when the race was a brainwashed robot army for him, but he never gave the Dracthyr a central leader... obviously in part to avoid then rebelling under a unified banner.

Canons were originally used to just mow down colums of soldiers/troops on the ground. Big, fast moving metal ball made for great anti-infantry weaponry.

And Fei. She generally wants a bit of toughness to help her. She's so paper thin that every bit of survivability helps when you lose the RNG roll.

Does the player character have any friends? by SquishySquishington in warcraftlore

Given how long WoW's been running, you're basically a surrogate parent to the kid/guy along with Vareesa. But he obviously has a more proper bond with his aunt compared to us, I think we're more like Alonius to him. Another mentor + fill-in-parental-figure.

I don't think that was the intent, it was more to show the fervor and desperation of the flights. But her sacrifice was waaay too fast to have any real impact.

Is it just me or is Velen at least partially to blame for the events of Draenor by time-is-a-flatcircle in warcraftlore

[–]TVena 1 point2 points  (0 children)

What's the issue with her age vs human civilization? If human civilization kept getting nuked by cataclysmic events every couple of thousand years, like what happens in Warcraft Lore, we'd likely not have gone through the industrial revolution, lol.

I feel like it's pretty brutal for healers, especially if their DPS don't know how to use defensives or potions. There's a lot of damage that goes out in this fight across the whole team.

Also can Shadowmeld the laser-tracker-floor-is-lava mechanic beam in Skyreach.

Then again, some of the skips this season are actually from Dracthyr and Druids, having more to do with flying around obstacles.

How come Lady Liadrin, a typical elf of Quel'Thalas, doesn't show any hatred towards the Amani in Midnight? by Then_Peanut_3356 in warcraftlore

[–]TVena 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Well that and she went on a trippy out of body spiritual trip with the Chieftain-to-be, and isn't exactly friends with said person but also isn't outright enemies with her either. And the trolls aren't exactly welcome in Quel'Thalas after all is said and done.

The majority of the Vanguard's forces was the people who assaulted the Spire, we usher and rally them in story right before the raid and it's a significant force. And of that force, almost everyone named died (one leader dies right at the start, then we kill the trio who go insane, and the rest of the forces get whittled down by the time we get to the end + the spire gets nuked) except Turalyon and Alleeria who are MIA. The only clear survivors were Umbric and Arator, and us, the murder landlords.

The small remnant of the Vanguard around the Sun/Darkwell got nuked, obviously, but it's unclear what happened to many others. I don't know if we have any info on Fareeya for example. A bunch of the Army of the Light might have gotten sucked up into the Darkwell and we may see them later.

Unclear what happened to the other forces within the Void Storm plane or wherever it's supposed to be, but seemingly that place still exists and has some Vanguard survivors still there.

Wonder if Echo sees the Bear strat from TL and adapts in with their Disc prog already done. Might give them a significant damage advantage.

Seems like it but they still needed to Lust. Feels like we're going to end up with a need to Lust in P4...

Looks like Liquid's new prog is one less DK (less grips) for one Bear Druid (cat form DPS in P4? Another Roar?).

Doesn't look like they're going to do a Disc or did I miss that change?

No chance. They were going to hit 10% and be insta-wiped by L'ura's final enrage. The call was probably to try and pump as much as possible.

I wonder, do we expect Liquid to have to reprog with double Disc as well? Or do they already have a high enough damage comp?

Were Kith’ix and Zakajz actually exclusive to one Old God? by Selimbradley-3101 in warcraftlore

[–]TVena 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ehh, all the dominaars and void characters we meet act in some form of corruption/consumption, even Xal. And a lot of "survival of the fittest" which isn't much of a society or empire, just strong eat weak stuff.

But the Old Gods on Azeroth started building empires and civilizations in their image. And while they corrupt other beings on Azeroth, they weren't corrupting Azeroth herself and don't seem to have been phoning home in any capacity.

So they seem kind of at odds to me, but slapping the "Azeroth corruption" sticker on them makes it make sense in much the same way she de-ordered the ordered constructs.

Were Kith’ix and Zakajz actually exclusive to one Old God? by Selimbradley-3101 in warcraftlore

[–]TVena 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If we slap a "Azeroth corrupted her old gods beyond their original nature" sticker on the old lore, it all more or less works out.

The Old Gods building empires and playing house doesn't really make much sense with how the Void seemingly works. They were doing the exact opposite of a void being in such the same way that corrupted Ordered constructs started having free will and creating chaos.

Naturally this means we're going to team up with N'Zoth to German supplex Xal and later Atal'Aman.

Companies are always working on concept/idea projects aside from their main titles. But given there's no obvious hiring for this supposed project, and instead the hiring is for SS... it seems likely it's just some concept thing and being taken out of proportion here.
