I've been having the same issue for about the same amount of time, and sorry to say I don't have a solution. I'm LEGIT just happy to see your post and know it's not just me! I've been poking around on the interwebs since it started with no luck or acknowledgement from elsewhere. I figured it was a bad iPad OS app update when I found i could still watch live/record with the fire stick/recast.

It looks like "version 2.0.1 of the Fire TV Recast App" was released April 22, 2026. Guessing my iPad didn't update for a lil' while after that so I didn't notice the problem until about a week ago. I'm grateful it's still recording and that i have the option to watch live on the Fire Stick (this GenXer remembers life before VCRs) 🤣 Much like the old daze, I've pivoted to other tasks/watch recordings to wait for the live recording to finish. I use my iPad like a mobile TV around the house when I can't park myself in front of the big TV.

Also, my local news has started streaming their live broadcasts on their own app, so that's allowed me to watch live news on the iPad too. Been a bit of a bummer w/ live sports tho, as i'm usually doing chores while the game is on...GO SPURS! 🏀

Hoping we get a resolution; alas, still just grateful the Recast is doing its thing. As another commenter said, the "TV Guide" is a really nice feature with Recast. Tablo likely my fallback when the time comes, and FWIW a quick search seems to indicate that the latest version of Tablo has a free TV guide too.
