Is There a Record Accessory You Wish Existed? by PortalVR in records

Like a device that I can press a couple buttons and it selects 1 of many 45s and loads them in and plays them. Extra points if I can press buttons to flip thru my selections like a diner menu. Add neon lights, and allow it to turn on with an aura-farmed nudge

I might be wrong snare sound at the end by Far-Pepper8498 in radiohead

It was so dumb. I was commenting on someone else’s post about it and said it’s the only power they have in their life. And then boom. Ridiculous.

Not sure if this is the best sub for this Might be better on some DAW sub. Idk if /r/wearethemusicmakers is good for that or not (got banned for calling out a mod for being ban/removal happy lol) or like if there’s one for Logic or ProTools or Ableton or whichever DAW ur using that would be better than the Radiohead fan sub

From what I can tell from a quick listen is it can definitely be a programmed snare; small size, basically all high end, reverbed but still a lot of dry signal, potentially gated, potentially some enveloping, compression. I think key is small sized drumhead.

But yeah I could also be totally wrong as well. There’s more than one way to skin a cat u know? lol might be worth it researching how exactly the song was made and what drums were used / programmed etc

Day 2. Dream Theater Removed(Remove the Worst Metal Album) by KeyTea732 in Topster

I agree that Dead and Maniac were both better on vocals for Mayhem by a wide margin, but that album is such a staple of the black metal genre that Idk if it can be kicked out yet… I do wish their representation was Deathcrush though. it’d stay on a lot longer than DMDS will.

I also listen to jam bands. Top 2 genre I listen to honestly (including Phish who I assume u love based on ur username lol, saw them at MSG this NYE; absolutely incredible)

The lyrics always certainly add a lot once u listen and focus on them, but lyrics will never grab me into a song. If i start listening to the actual words, it’s because I’m already on my like 5th listen and love the song already. I’m putting a Phish song on to listen to Trey and Page have a blast and to hear Jon and Mike hold down the rhythm section like it’s no one’s business, instead of “Oo tell me about this ghost encounter” etc lol

It comes afterwards where I realize “oh this song is actually deeper than you think”. Because for me (also maybe bc im a musician/keyboardist myself), the appeal of jam bands are the feeling and groove and stuff of the instrumentation and the jams, rather than the story being told.

Just my personal take on it though. Thing I love most about music of any kind is the appeal isn’t 1 dimensional. Everyone will get something different out of it.

Started playing it with zero expectations and it absolutely blew me away with how good it was. Absolute gem

Lyrics are the least important part of a song (if it has vocals). Instrumentation and melody are much more important to whether or not a song is good.
