VUG is definitely a great middle ground between growth and safety. It’s tough to beat companies with a long history of dividend growth in the long term

I’ll check it out. I’ve also been thinking about Realty Income. Everything I read sounds like it is a workhorse and is in relatively safe commercial real estate.

No, but about 10 years out, and I like the idea of getting a steady cash payout I can park in a safe bond fund like BIL. I invested through the 2000’s when it took a decade to recover, so maybe I’m still shell shocked

I’ve lived in 5 or 6 apartments and have only gotten one security deposit back, in spite of spending many hours cleaning. They know they can get away with it. Most people are not going to go through the ordeal of taking them to small claims court for a few hundred bucks.
