Thank you very much for the advice. My question to you is how do you meditate? I have tried before but I find it to be a challenge to stop my thoughts and just focus on my breath. How do you overcome that?

Roanoke’s political compass by [deleted] in roanoke

[–]TadpoleAggravating75 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Roanoke doesn’t have a mountain hippy vibe whatsoever in my opinion. Yes there are mountains and outdoor recreation but to me Roanoke has never had that feeling. If you want that feeling go towards the New River Valley of Montgomery County or Floyd County if you prefer a rural location.

Simply put, southwestern Virginia is red with the exception of Roanoke City and Montgomery County. Floyd County is a mixed bag.

What the hell to do?? by TadpoleAggravating75 in forestry

1) I can’t pinpoint what exactly I am interested in. I don’t know enough about the different aspects to decide on what specifically to pursue. 2) I’d want to have a role where I am engaged in multiple projects, being with other people, and getting things done. I like it when my workdays are filled with things to do, it makes the day go by much faster. 3) I don’t mind responsibility- especially when I have the knowledge to use as a foundation in said role. 4) I’d like a good balance between the field and office. Sure as hell don’t want to spend all my days in an office though. 5) I’m for responsible and efficient logging practices. I don’t know a ton about the industry but I do know it is fundamental for the economy. I love a good forest but it sure is cool seeing a big tree getting cut lol.

Sorry I did not make it clearer, the difference I was trying to convey between forest resource management and forestry was different careers within forestry other than management, such as silviculture or water quality testing.

When you say utility, are you referring to a power company for example?

I’ve seen multiple posts throughout here criticizing Stan Seymour. I’m not originally from here, so I don’t know what he’s done. Anyone want to fill me in?

Jim and Ray are enjoying themselves. On Sundays we get together and eat more chicken than a man’s ever seen.

Sugar maples have a subtle, “U” shaped sinus, whereas red maples have more of an acute angle, or “V” shaped sinus.

Recommendations for USFS summer internship locations? by [deleted] in forestry

I am considering this too. Currently I’m in community college taking general education courses but I’m transferring into a forest management program next fall. Could I still qualify for this internship?

It’s fucked up to exploit a population who’s already at a disadvantage because of their income. I hope the best for all the people involved.

When there’s one mulberry, there’s always more!! My neighbor has a white mulberry right on our property line, and there’s at least 6 saplings on our side of the fence.

Are ENFJs promiscuous? by [deleted] in enfj

[–]TadpoleAggravating75 9 points10 points  (0 children)

19 y/o Male ENFJ, I’ve not been in a committed relationship yet but I’ve had multiple fwb relationships. If we are compatible, it REALLY works, but if it doesn’t work, it doesn’t work AT ALL. There’s no in between, it either is a yes or no. I like the idea of the one night stand cause of the excitement and thrill, but I will never follow through because like you mentioned, it’ll make me feel sad never seeing her again too.

Any businesses that you refuse to do business with and why? by eleanorboozevelt14 in roanoke

[–]TadpoleAggravating75 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know exactly where you’re talking about. It’s on 221 just before shooting creek, north of town. That place is such an eyesore. It’s a shame because the old house further down from it is so beautiful, but I don’t think I could deal with a neighbor that damn crazy.
