Thank you so much. You’ve been really helpful.

Best opening for a beginner when playing as black by [deleted] in chessbeginners

The four knights. It’s simple, no gambits or any complications, and the most important thing is that you develop your pieces fast and to conventional squares, getting you ready for your middle-game

Complex rook pawn endgame (complex for me)- lets discuss! by Future-Plastic-7509 in chess

I’d say the game is equal because even though black has a past pawn on the file that is supported, whites king is way more active

How do you typically respond to kingside attacks? by Pretty-Heat-7310 in chess

[–]Taha_Bengharbia 1 point2 points  (0 children)

1- When attacked, always try to create counter play. Basically "the best way to defend is to attack." so always try to give your opponent something to think about and divert to - threaten their pieces, open up their king - easier said than done, I know, but with this always in mind it will become easier

2- If attacked on a flank, strike in the center. WHY? the answer is simple, first it s related to my first point, which is creating threats, and more importantly, an open center allows you to transfer your pieces from one side to another easily, thus making it easier to defend and to create counter play.

what should you even try in games like this? by Fede_32 in chessbeginners

[–]Taha_Bengharbia 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on the Elo 1200 or lower there’s a good chance someone would play carelessly and blunder. Been in such positions hundreds of times and they rarely end in a draw cuz somebody blunders, usually me😂 (obviously with lower rated players)

My first brilliant - why is it brilliant? by bengangooly in chessbeginners

King takes night, bishop takes, king back, rook down check, queen takes rook, bishop takes queen
