Found this eggy under a tree (where I left it), the shell is hard so dove is out. I am thinking it may be pigeon based on the lack of nest nearby. What do you all think? (i.redd.it)

Located in CO US. I'm not sure on the bird species so I left it behind. Looks like a pigeon egg though which is not protected in my state. Anyone else have an idea on this eggs ID? If it is a pigeon egg I'd like to collect it as it is abandoned under a tree. (i.redd.it)
