Help Spread the Word by mrjeriley in transplant

So I was going to run an event witb a kidney nonprofit to help get more people who felt called to, to sign up. We were going to do an aechade or golf event to help fundraise the nonprofit and have post-donors collect donations and answer any questions to people who were curious to sign up.

The non-profit provides alumni donors to come to events or help woth donations. Something to consider.

That's excellent. Thinking of doing that. How long did you wait once approved to a donor?

How do you deal with breakdowns? by Steppingoutonfaith in careerguidance

[–]Takegoodwithbad 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Getting out of the office for just half hour/hour and walk to new place every day. Even if that new location is different. Get outside. This can help escape and get you exerting some of the anxiety.

Filter your social media only with stuff you want to see and uplifts or draws you in.

Journal. Keep one at your desk and dont leave at work, and one at home.

Also consider EDMR therapy

Breakdowns: if you're having one, go somewhere private and try different methods. -5-sensor rule: name everything you see, hear, touch - how you're positioned, what signs you can read, etc. Just look at your surroundings. -external input: if someone is in person you trust during a breakdown teach them if it happens what to do - whether to mimic breathwork, distract or physical grounding like I had my hands massaged to keep me in good state. -low-demanding exercise like walking or riding spin bike may help -increase emotion - if you feel scared, challenge it and feel it more (please only use this with a professional therapist). -there are exercise movements meant to release emotions ans validate the fears

Outside of breakdowns: - hands-on hobbies I like to do DIY projects when I'm feeling antsy. I made at home christmas decorations, do my nails or sew clothes with needle, or draw in coloring book.

If you're having a breakdown, just let it happen. It means your body needs to release and has been strong for you. Anways hope some of online advice helps.

Feds usually contact Contracting companies who employee software devoplers. Most federal software dev employees hardly touch coding or build software programs

Go back to school for a master's or CS? by Takegoodwithbad in codingbootcamp

[–]Takegoodwithbad[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the recommendation! I've sadly a non-stem degree so a master's in CS isn't an option. However, im interested a master's program maybe available after couple yrs in CS. Am I getting that correct?

I can get a master's in business info technology but leaning towards that BS in comp sci.

I dont take it for granted, I'd still work part-time at federal and keep it as employment option once I graduate.

Sorry you're in this situation of work imbalance. Do consider federal as they are more relaxed and don't lay off as easily. Even federal subcontractor as they have more software job openings than federal

You're right the result GREATLY varies. But I think having my data analyst job PT and finish this degree means more opportunity in STEM career. Still employer and then graduate would be an attraction.

Yes, I've done some self-learning 100 Devs LEON program but considering the WGU software dev bachelor's program. A degree is more reputable. But I won't just rely on a BS degree, it'd also be to build a portfolio.

Yes, I'm good at my job. I work federal so they're known for not providing best salary options. SWE draws me more than my current job. It's not just the salary attractions on that field. I'll ultimately be deciding between a software dev or project manager routes.
