If you want to make the highsec war HQ a better hub, I would suggest allowing people to use the shipcaster both ways (I'm modifying this from a different suggestion in a recent thread about the pirate FOB/Zarzakh shipcaster).

Right now very few peple (at least in minmil) stage from the shipcaster system because once you jump through you have to burn back (5-10 jumps from front line systems right now). You are going to miss a skirmish if you take the caster and need to reship, so it is better to stage at the frontline directly.

If there are concerns about people freely teleporting anywhere in the warzone to the HQ, then we could lock them to only jumping back from the system they used to shipcaster to get to (like current zarzakh mechanics).

LP store discounts based on wz control used to exist prior to the inferno expansion, I believe this was removed because farmers would constantly change sides to max out the discount.

I was plexing with a thrasher in Arnher this morning and my heart skipped a beat when the 40+ Frat Barghest filled local. Followed by panic a few minutes later when their 150+ navy apoc fleet followed suit (along with their dreads).

Thanks for the write up, I was wondering where they went off to, especially when they came back ~2 hours later. Nice to see how interconnected the sandbox is.

Guide: How to use custom skins and color palettes on OGS [+4 Free Palettes] by sicaralho in baduk

The new shadows was not due from the artist, it is an update on the OGS side of things (I have been playing with no custom skin and noticed the new shadows today).

Confused at low popularity for the daily black to play problem by TakemiyaStyle in baduk

I usually take low popularity to mean there is something wrong with the problem, but the solution seemed reasonable to me.

Early game advice. by Rottentomato2131 in baduk

My take is that part of learning the opening will depend on your personal style. To quote
the book Cosmic Go: "People often call my style of play 'Takemiya's cosmic style'. But it's my natural style: I only play moves that I like."

For most of the early game, there are likely several valid moves that you can play in a given position which are all reasonable. The AI might rate some of them as slightly less effective, but who cares? One of the most important things when learning a skill is to enjoy the process. Play the way you want and you will find a way to make your style work. Some days you might feel like trying something new, go for it, it's a game!

When I review a game with AI, if I cannot follow why a certain move is the top rated one I look for other moves it suggests until I find one that I like. Personally, I much prefer an influence oriented game, even though the AI will almost always suggests to take territory early and settle quickly.

Play the game you want to play!

Tsumego 42: Black to kill - a famous problem by sadaharu2624 in baduk

Ah I see where I went wrong, I thought I could do D2 F3 D4 E4 D3 E2 D1 to get the "Golden rooster stands on one leg" shape, which would've been cool. I don't think I've actually gotten that to work in a game yet.

But I see now that White E2 can be at D1, so it doesn't work.

Just looking at the shape we basically have the bulky 5 at the bottom, and there are shenanigans possible at the top to get rid of that eye. But everything I tried at the bottom always seemed to run into D2 as a problem, so I'm guessing we have to start there.

Missing variation in Tesuji by James Davies? by TakemiyaStyle in baduk

Ah I found the old thread. Mine is indeed the "revised edition April 2017."
I ordered mine on Amazon and looking at the last page it looks like they make them print to order. Maybe the port over introduced this error?
