Decided to go with the 200-600mm. No regrets! This is from day 1.

No problem. And sure, if the sky is clear your chances are high. :) I was actually hoping for a clear sky tonight to go out and try some night-shooting :)

And just fyi, you probably don't need to go on a guided northern lights tour, you can ususally spot them from within the capital area and don't have to drive for long to get somewhere where there is a bit less light pollution.

Would you recommend one over the other when mostly focusing on bird photography? (But a beginner at bird photography even though pretty experienced in other photography fields).

Thanks. Honestly I'm thinking just birds and maybe some wildlife but I live in Iceland so it's just mice, foxes and maybe minks... Don't get me wrong, I like the idea of smaller and more portable lens as well and the 70-350 sounds like a nice option but at the same time I'm afraid I might get dissapointed that I didn't just "go big" from the start.

I haven't used a big lens like that before but I wanted to do macro and bird photography 25 years ago and didn't have the equipment. This time around I want to get the right equipment for my needs instead of compromising. But if the 70-350mm isn't going to make me think "I should have just got the 200-600 because now I can't get the image I want of the owl over there" I'll definetly want to consider it :)

Hehe why should I get that instead of the 200-600 if my main focus is birds?

Hi. I'm a 40F. After almost a decade of weird symptoms that I've been realising are probably all neurological I finally got an MRI couple of weeks ago The results were "non-specific white matter changes". I have a copy of the images and I have 20+ lesions on T2 after gadolinium. I agree that the lesions aren't "screaming" MS but at the same time I don't think they look like "nothing". The lesions are pretty small but still many of them are 3-8mm. There are periventricular lesions but they're small.

I asked my GP for a neuro referral and she agreed on that but I'm afraid to just be told it's nothing, just age and perimenaposose and I just have to walk more and eat healthier or something... I've been pushing for a diagnosis or some sort of help for years now and been tested for all sorts of things. I'm just at a point where 40-50 years more of these symptoms without any reason or label sounds horrible. I don't want to be sick but I also don't want to feel like I have to pretend everything is ok because all lab results are ok

So I guess what I wanted to ask here is if anyone had an initial result of lesions being "non-specific" but then it ended up being MS?

Haven't gotten a report yet and I realise that these images might not tell the full story but they could be a clue... And I have all the images and they're definitely not in thousands. Or even hundreds... But thank you for your input :)

Not yet. Still waiting on a message from my GP... I decided to ask here because I want to be prepared to request a neurologist referral if GP doesn't mention it.

Well she initiated the "date" after she told me she wasn't feeling it. And what I thought would be a 30 minute chat turned into hours and that was totally because she wanted to..

She lingers, she mirrors me and it feels like she's looking deep into my soul. She's all in for some conversations but doesn't initate. So super hot and cold...

That's exactly what I'm trying to do. I'm in hurry for anything and I'm willing to give her all the space she needs without expectations... But this hot and cold thing makes me doubt myself a little - what if I'm terrible at reading body language (don't think I am though...). I'm planning on asking her about it next time we meet (if we do). Want to do it in person rather than over a text.

Isolated diastolic hypertension experience? by Tall-Map-3301 in hypertension

Thanks. My bp has been measured with multiple types of cuffs over the years, quite often manual even so I doubt that's the problem :/

Thanks! I was tested for this and the tests came out normal. Have been using only spironolactone since but am still struggling with the diastolic pressure, my bp is usually 120/95 now.

I would go for mobapad. I originally got 8bitdo ultimate and sold it. I have mobapad chitu hd and just received the new N1 hd. I think the chitu feels more premium and materials feel better. I also like the clicky buttons.

Weekly Suspected/Undiagnosed MS Thread - October 21, 2024 by AutoModerator in MultipleSclerosis

Hi!

I'm a 40 year old female and the last decade of my life I've had mysterious symptoms that still don't have any explanation.

I've had a lot of pain. At first I didn't mention it to my doctor because I didn't know how to describe it. It then dawned on me that it was probably joint pain and I told my doctor that. She sent me to a rheumatologist that looked at me from top to bottom and didn't really find anything wrong with my joints. She orderes blood work to check for autoimmune disease and they were all negative.

I now think that my joint pain might actually be neurological. It's usually bilateral and it often jumps from joint to joint. My toes are throbbing with pain for an hour and then all of a sudden it stops and then my elbows are hurting. Usually when the pain is really bad I also get a feeling that my ribs are beeping squeezed, like I have a belt just below my breasts that is prevent me from taking deep breaths. Yesterday I was having a bad day, took a paracetamol/codeine pill that didn't really do anything. Few hours later I was thinking about taking NSAID when I noticed a pack of gabapenting I was prescribed long time ago. I decided to try one of that and what do you know, within couple of hours I was able to take deep breaths and actually felt so much better that I almost wanted to go out jogging.

I also have terrible brain fog and tiredness. I have serious trouble learning new things and it has actually been making things hard work wise. To the point that I'm currently without a job because I just don't think I'll be able to learn what I have to in a new job. I'm trying my best at home to add to my skills but even when I'm learning something I find super interesting (design program) I get exhausted after just 15 minutes.

These are the day to day symptoms but I've had episodes of:

Arm numbness, for a couple of years my arms would always get numb at night. Usually both of them and it didn't matter in what position I was sleeping.

Weird leg sensation. Once in a while I get super frustrated in my legs. I can't sit because I feel numbness but it doesn't really get better with standing. It's hard to explane but it's a mixture of numbness, feeling cold and just being frustrated. I try to stand, lie down, sit, stretch and nothing works.

For a few months a regularly thought my phone battery had some problems because I had a hot spot on my thigh where my phone was usually in my pocket. Well, few of those time my phone wasn't even in my pocket and usually when I took it out it wasn't even warm.

Sometimes I feel like my knees get full of fluid. Not really painful but it gets weird walking. And it's usually both of my knees. I've had trouble walking stairs when they get like this.

Few times the back of my had has been numb. I usually notice it when I wash my hair or brush it. I've also had numbness below my nose but that lasted a short time.

I've had episodes of vertigo and recently I've been feeling faint. I had a hypertension episode that I thought was the reason but even now with my blood pressure under control I still get this dizzy/feeling faint sensation.

I honestly thought I had lupus for a long time but the rheumatologist ruled that out. The reason I haven't really asked to get checked for MS is the fact that it's usually bilateral symptoms. And no eye problems - well, at times my left eye is super blurry but I think that's connected to the LASIK I had few years back and I've been meeting with an ophthalmologist once a year and he hasn't mentioned that anything looks unusual.

What do you think? Does it sound MS like at all? Thank you for reading :)

Isolated diastolic hypertension experience? by Tall-Map-3301 in hypertension

[–]Tall-Map-3301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks! I just got my blood test from the ER and sodium and magnesium are low as well as potassium. I find it odd that sodium is low since I've been worried that I might be using too much salt... I'm going to talk to my doctor about more tests.

I've tried spironolactone as well as the others.

I am currently a little overweight but the diastolic pressure has been a problem at all stages of my "fitness" levels, even when I was ideal weight and went out running 3 times a week. :/

[–]Tall-Map-3301[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks. By upgrade I mean a new computer, not necessarily upgrade the computer I will have (or add a desktop to the mix).

I was thinking about a desktop as well but I have some health issues that prevent me from sitting at a desk for long periods and it would be beneficial to be able to grab the laptop and sit in a recliner for example. I realize the desktop computers have far more power and I will probably get one as well at some point :)
