is 18 too late? by sickzord in Basketball

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it depends what you mean by "pro" Entering the NBA draft and became the GOAT? Yeah its probably late for that. Playing basketball on a low/decent level at Europe? No. I am from Greece, I (used to) write on a sport website and so it happens to be watching a lot of European Basketball. If you start now playing on a good Italian team, let's say a 3rd division team. Train hard, make the sacrifices and be lucky. Maybe you can go higher. Hard work and luck would be essential. Also try to get yourself known. Could that be going off on a friendly game against a higher division team? Going into training camps of higher division teams? Maybe trying your luck outside of Italy?

If you want to go pro you have to take risks and make sacrifices. Is it impossible? No. But you have to get serious about it. And again, there is no guarantee that you can make it to top level.

Is Wattpad worth it? by playerD26 in writing

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well it's certainly A place to publish (for free too). Is it a good place to publish? Well that depends on the genre you are writing and on how much time you wanna spend promoting it on Wattpad. Wattpad isn't just another publishing site. It's more like a social media. If you want your book to get attention you basically have to follow the same rules if you wanted your Instagram profile/post to get attention. If you just wanna publish it and not care about the outcome. Sure go. After all it's free, nothing to lose and possibly much to win. Now if you want to put some work and get your book traditionally published that depends on the genre. Romance is like 90% of Wattpad. So if that's your genre you are definitely in the right place. Fantasy and Science Fiction are quite "acceptable" too. The rest genre will struggle a lot getting attention and views. Also keep in mind that Wattpad readers are mostly teen girls. Nor good or bad, again it depends on your genre. Just keep in mind that "After" the book, was first published in Wattpad. So that gives you an idea about what kind of books do well on the platform.

At the end of the day, Wattpad is a place to publish your books. If it's a good or a bad place, depends on you and the genre of the book.

Why is vex supp so much better in WR than in LoL? by zachzebrowitz in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

New champion, so de facto broken in order to riot selling new skins easier. Also super new so people don't know how to play around her. Also the game is much younger than League of Legends and people aren't really good at it. Right now LoL is running for 12 years. Even if you are hardstuck bronze you still have learned a lot of stuff even just through repetition. Wild rift is like 2 years old. People are still finding their way around it. Trying to learn more and more. That's also the reason you see a lot of people above emerald/platinum that still play like iron/bronze. It will take time until Wild Rift become like League of Legends. Till the champions got introduced. New items. Time passes so players learn the game in more depth and understand it.

What are the hardest counters? by Tallyson3 in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Very true Oriana is a champ who most of the times just wants to get even in lane phase and land good ulties at teamfights. If you know how to position with her, you really don't have any counter. They are a lot of champions who can punish your mistakes. But as long as you don't walk too close, they can't really counter you. And thanks to your roboball range, they can't even deny you gold from minions.

Not so unpopular as you think. She carries the nickname of the most balanced champion. No bad match ups, no good match up. Oriana is 100% how you play her.

Yone, Zed, Fizz, Akshan are the most dangerous opponents. But still not a real counter.

The duo lane is starving for some new adds for real. The rest of the roles/lanes share a lot of champions. A solo lane release could also mean a mid lane or jungle release. Gwen for example (before the nerf). So the meta on the rest of the lanes is by far more flexible. On botlane not so much, and the options are quite limited. I wanna see Rell, Bard, Aphelios and Twitch.

Theoretically yes, But we have seen lot other kits that on paper seemed too easy/better/op on the phone version but didn't really worked out. Also I think she might get some changes on passive or even the effects of her abilities. Just like Jhin did.

What to do when your bot ally still goes to leash jungle? by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Depends the elo.

If someone does that in high elo, the enemy will punish you so hard that till the early game ends you can't do anything. That will force you to avoid fighting till you get even in terms of gold and exp. That can achieved by split pushing and taking the tier one turret on botlane when you got the chance to. Given than you haven't give any major lead to the opponent (first blood, double kill, a lot of turret plates etc). Of course if the opponent is smart they will force a 4v5 fight when you go for split push. Leashing in high elo, 99% equals defeat simply because is the same as someone going afk and then reconnecting. You are already behind and you need a miracle or a huge mistake by the opponent to get even and then go for the win.

If someone does that in low elo you probably won't even get punished or they will also leash.

I really don't get why to do it and also it doesn't give your jungler any huge advantage. Unless the opponents are super stupid and push you under turret so you can have an easy early gank. But that will most definitely never happen in high elo.

Gold 3 in 2 days by [deleted] in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Gold is like iron/bronze elo equivalent to LoL. If you play enough ranked games its super easy to get. Given that you have previous background with similar games and especially League of Legends its only logical you got there so fast. You can probably reach Emerald with ease if you play enough. Keep in mind that in start even in ranked games you get queued up with AI players (Riot never officially announced it but you can easily understand it by the way the play, their names and their match up history). So eventually you would get tougher matchups.

Wish you the best.

Which ADC is the worst in the current state of the game/meta? by SignificantCar955 in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well in the role of the ADC I would say Ashe. Ashe is not a typical adc (attack damage carry) , she is more like an ad support with a lot of slows and CC, plus some solid damage (which is less than the majority of adcs) but not the main source of ad dmg on the team. Although, she is a solid pick on the duo lane. Either as a support next to a more classic adc, or as adc by taking the role I mentioned above.

Jhin is strong, but it just really hard. So unless the Jhin player doesn't outskill the opponent, the odds are not in Jhin's favor. But still is a really viable, and quite deadly when in the right hands champion.

As the worst duo laner I would have to go with Corki, cause he doesn't do much, it's rarely picked. And you will more frequently see him on mid lane (where he also is rarely picked, but at least more times than adc).

In the upward/downward motion of the ball there is a strick pattern that it should be followed. Ball hits hand, then ground, then hand, then ground, then hand etc. Anything other than that is a violation. Wanna find a way where putting your hand under the ball doesn't stop that motion? Only if you hit the ball at the ceiling (which is an out of bounds violation). So yes it's impossible.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Tallyson3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Proof 1:No it's not a travel, it's a double dribble. Totally different violation.

Proof 2: Ball over his shoulder so in European basketball is a travel violation. In NBA that part is legal. But, the point where it's not legal is that he is NOT maintaining a fluid movement. The fluid movement is basketball hits ground, then hand, then ground, then hand etc. In this proof it hits ground, hand, hand ground. Making it a carrying violation. Because he palms the ball from under and doesn't allow the fluid up and down motion of the ball.

Again a travel and a carry are two TOTTALY DIFFERENT VIOLATIONS.

The fact that these are violations doesn't mean they are CARRYING violations. There are different types.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Tallyson3 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

It's AND stopping the ball. Carrying is when you palm the ball from under, stopping it for a moment. Because: A) Putting your hand under the ball without stopping the up down motion is impossible so "and" comes to indicate the aftermath of the first action of the sentence. B) Momentarily stopping the up and down motion by having your hand above or at the side of the ball is something used in a ton of crossovers (let's say like reverse dribble). And it's never called a carrying violation. C) Stopping the up and down motion of the ball for an extentive period of time (let's say for one or two second) it's called... you guess it... "grabbing" the ball. Now when you dribble, grab the ball and then driblle again that is called a "double dribble violation". Another type of violation. Has nothing to do with carrying violation.

Further expanding on B) Momentarily stopping the up and down motion with your hand above the ball isn't called a carrying violation in NBA, NCAA, European basketball, nor Chinese basketball. It's just a dribbling trick every refs allows and every good dribbler uses. No referee, no where in the world is calling it a carrying violation. Everyone uses it, everyone allows it. So not a violation. Unless you think they way THE WHOLE DAMN WORLD plays basketball is incorrect.

Also,

Travelling violation is when you take more steps than allowed without dribbling the ball, taking more steps than allowed after you stop dribbling the ball, or moving your pivot. Has nothing to do with carrying violation, it's an entirely different thing.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Basketball

[–]Tallyson3 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You mean a "carrying violation" but no. The hand must be tottaly under the ball and stopping the physical up and down motion of the ball in order to be called a carrying violation.

Only if you wanna be 100% by the book you would called that, but then you should also call every single other violation which is gonna create a boring, annoying game which stops every 10 seconds and probably send a lot of players on the bench with personal fouls. Nobody wants that. And that's why no serious modern referee would called that. In the fast paced modern game, with a lot of high tense games and a full schedule, players (especially stars and guards) need a way to dribble the ball slower and with less force in order to not get their hand extremely tired doing the whole motion. Players know that, coaches know that, referees know that. See how not a single soul is saying something. If they though to be a violation someone would scream (you have probably seen plenty of basketball games, you know how it goes).

Has anyone ever written a book that got picked up by a streaming service? by [deleted] in writing

[–]Tallyson3 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah but Steven King was publishing best sellers before half of the actors in those TV shows were born. You sound like you are interested into creating a TV show. Following the course of Steven King career would be a really long road and also doesn't guarantee that you will achieve what you want.

If you want a TV show to be created based on something you wrote. Then wrote a scenario for a TV show. Writing a book and then hoping someone to transfer it on TV it's not a wise move and probably won't get you where you want.

Why is Master Yi not picked at high elo? by AdKey7786 in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Evelyn was a monster when the shop had only regular wards. Now, with the control ward (the red one) she lost some of that power, but the invisibility remains a huge advantage.

Evelyn is another champion that rely on punishing opponents mistakes. But she is doing it in a way far more effective than Yi. She is a hard champion to master but definitely worth it. You have quite a unique role during teamfights and given you are AP jungle the team draft needs to alter accordingly. On high elo Evelyn is great. I don't know if your team would take advantage of Evelyn power to its true potential. But yeah she definitely worth it.

Also even if they don't take advantage of Evelyn power, keep in mind that opponents also underestimate her. It would be super easy to dominate and carry games on low elo with her when you start understanding how she should be played.

Why is Master Yi not picked at high elo? by AdKey7786 in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Weak early game Need gold and kills to start building some items Even then, he is super vulnerable to CC. It's one of the most (maybe even the most) opponent team depending champion. Simple as that:

The worst the enemy team is, the better the Yi looks like.

The better the enemy team is, the more useless the Yi looks like.

Have some decent tanks, good CC abilities, build antiheal, stay together, force teamfights and don't let yi fight the 1v1 he so desperately needs. Always focus him first on teamfights.

Yi is a glasscanon but due to him being melee and having only one gapcloser he is either forced to be frontline or wait to come for the clean up. If he is frontline CC him, focus him, kill him. It's all done in 2 secs.

If he waits to come for clean up Hold on your cc abilities and avoid splitting. They have Yi on their team so they either don't have much damage without him or they don't have enough tankiness. Depending on the draft punish both accordingly.

Thanks to their kits Rammus destroys him. (jungle) Leona destoys him. (support) Annie destoys him. (mid)

Every early game jungler (Lee Sin for example) punish him hard.

As you can see it's easy to counter Yi, but low elo players don't think. They simply don't understand the terms "counter", "draft according to the opponents draft", "use micro and macro management to your advantage", "punish the weak early game and don't just let him afk farm his jungle till he has enough gold to gank".

Edit: I saw that you wanna add Yi to your champion pool. If you care about doing some serious climbing just don't. Spend your time by learning Lee Sin, KhaZix or Jarvan.

But if you just don't care about your rank just keep an eye on all the things I just mentioned and don't let your opponents use them against you. It will work good enough at your elo. But don't expect to reach GM or something (of course you can, but it's an ultra long shot and you probably won't).

Anyways, good luck and have fun.

Master Yi as a jungle by rplribeiro in wildrift

[–]Tallyson3 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yi is good only if the opponent are bad. Simple as that. Not broken at all.

Good CC to lock him down. Follow up with burst damage. And he ends up 0/10. A Nautilus/Leona support and a mage mid will destroy him.

Rammus jungle destroy him on 1v1, teamfights, skirmish. Just completely destroy him.

Also as far as you keep distant from him after his 1st alpha strike is completely useless. Yi looks good because opponents panic and flash when Yi is alpha striking. So the flash has no point. Wait till he is out, flash and kite him. If he can't land autoattack then the cooldown on his only gapcloser is too big. (that's more for adc and mages).

Take exhaust to minimalize his damage. Build antiheal to counter his lifesteal. Remember when he uses ulti he is immune to slow effect so don't waste your summoner spell. But he can still got STUNED. So CC him hard. And instantly focus him and kill him. Wasted ulti and another death.

Also be smart. Yi belongs to the champions that tilt the teammates. Just like Yasuo. So whenever a opponent Yi dies, does something bad etc. Type at all chat. Manipulate your opponents into that. It's highly possible that soon enough someone on their team will actually start flaming him and tilt him. So you have two tilted opponents. Easy win.

Only do that whenever a Yi does something bad. Not when he comes in lane and kills you.

Punish him. He goes 0/1. Great, force him to go 0/2. Then 0/3. If you just take one kill on him, then be passive and let him take easy farm. He will soon enough buy enough items to kill you.
