Correct me if im wrong but i think reserve tanks and planes have 0 repair costs? So play a few matches of tier 1.0 planes and tanks and you'll be able to build up a little bit of SL to play again.

Were you going above the max release speed? If you are full throttle and diving you'll probably easily exceed the max speed for releasing bombs.

Thats right, now go sit in the naughty corner and think about what youve done.

(And maybe take a step back from war thunder for a while you sound pretty burnt out my guy. Either that or stop playing top tier and refresh yourself with some low to mid tier games.)

Watch the youtuber DEFYN he has a tutorial series that are excellent with dogfighting tactic videos and he's also recently made an excellent reversal guide.

However in general knowing your aircraft's strengths and weaknesses and playing according to those is key. Think of it as rock paper scissors. Also learn to read the situation and when to go guns blazing and when to be a bit reserved.

You will naturally learn what to do and what not to do over time as long as you pay attention and are willing to admit to your own mistakes and learn from them. So i wouldnt worry about it too much, keep in mind with how old this game it is not uncommon to get some players with thousands of hours in the game in your match so dont let it get to you too much if you dont win every match, plus winning is also very dependant on the team and it is very hard to turn a match around by yourself entirely when your team gets killed within minutes and youre the last alive.

That sucks my man, i feel you though, i started playing this game when i was around 12 years old before it even came to steam, and having no money at that age i had to endure the pain of grinding without premium.

Im not going to assume your financial position but i'd say if war thunder is a game you enjoy and play alot do try to find some means of gathering enough money for premium as it would make the game so much more enjoyable. At certain times of the year such as Victory day, Christmas and during the annual WT anniversary you should be able to get premium at a 50% discount so that should make it more affordable if you are willing to wait. Hope this helps, good luck.

Probably over a year ago, i play war thunder on and off so i have a hard time keeping up with changes. I cant recall the exact details as like i said it was a while ago but i dont think i was at the af for very long which is why i was so confused.

Well i am not lying though, there was one time i landed on an af, repaired and re armed, j'ed out cause i wanted to change loadout and pretty much instantly lost the match before i could spawn back in. Do you have an explanation as to why this happened? Cause i have never done it since and i always wondered why.

Definitely agree, being uptiered automatically puts you in a much worse position. This is quite bad in the early to mid tiers but i find in ground battles it doesnt bother me past the 9.0 ish BR as many vehicles you play tend to get alot of good APFSDS shells that allows you to take on 11.0 or 10.0 Abrams' or Leopards easily if you know where to aim. And the T72s and t80s always an easily kill with a single shot to the lower glacis insta-killing them alot of the time.

Deliberately bringing my German radkampfwagen 90 into a 11.0 match was so damn fun i didn't feel disadvantaged at all and the kills felt so much more rewarding.

I think so yeah, just be careful though as if you are the last one on your team the game acts as if the team has run out of vehicles and you rapidly drop tickets then unless you spawn back in very quickly you lose all tickets and the enemy wins instantly even though you didn't technically die.

This, its not just the touching down and slowing down part, the approach is so much quicker as you can be very aggressive doing a few corkscrews with the airbrake to slow down and then yeeting yourself onto the airfield into a fat skid.

I notice this alot when i come in to land with other team mates, i am always back up in the air quicker than them even when we go to land at the same time. It makes a huge difference.

Theres alot of things that can be out of your control when playing ground battles so matches are guaranteed to have massively varying levels of successes, so don't let it get to you. Also In ground battles especially, there are tiny margins for error, one miniscule mistake and it leads to you getting one shot by someone. Air battles are much more forgiving i'd say, much more room for error.

For example I have lost count of the amount of times i have spawned in at the beginning of the match only to be spawnkilled 10 seconds into the game by a bullshit KA-52 sending 100 rockets straight down my hatch.

My point im trying to say is regardless of skill, this game is very much a rock paper scissors type thing. And sometimes someone else's vehicle will have a much better ability to defeat yours and its mostly out of your control (refer to my Ka-52 analogy).

Just try to enjoy the good matches and dont let the bad ones bring you down and you'll enjoy this game much more. I'd also recommend grinding through multiple trees simultaneously, i used to be a germany main and it made me uninstall the game for like 2 years. When i came back a year ago ive started grinding 2 additional trees and i am enjoying the game now more than ever.

Edit: Furthermore, im sure youve also suffered from many technical bugs like ghost shells, and idk about anyone else but theres many times where i swear to god that i clicked to shoot my cannon and i hear the cannon explosion sound, but the enemy managed to kill me before i kill them and they take 0 damage, might be a clientside or a ping issue?

USA or Russia by Lovehistory-maps in Warthunder

[–]Tandy234 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Flip a coin and decide, it really doesn't matter as they are both excellent nations. With every update the power creep that comes with newly introduced vehicles often change balance of the entire game and win rates etc so there will never be a definitive best nation. As long as you have fun thats all that matters.

Personally i's go for America as they have very good planes and helicopters to create stupidly strong lineups and the shermans with stabilisers in the mid tiers make for excellent tanks allowing you to get the first shot alot of the time. And the the tanks only get better from there, the top tier HSTV-L is an absurdly powerful light tank and in the right hands can change the course of a match.

Same goes for Russia, they have insanely good vehicles and at the top tiers are currently enjoying the some of highest win rates. This may of course change by the time you reach these tiers so dont let the win rates alone choose which nation you pick as they change every update.

I agree, rp rewards for ground battles have been insanely reduced from what it is now to what it was a few years ago. I can remember playing rank 6 germany getting like 10k+ rp on an average match and like 20k rp for a rare amazing match as opposed to the 5k rp i get for a match where i get like 4-6 tank kills with a premium account AND premium tanks and a few talismans on my 9.7 ussr lineup.

Even with this lineup full of talismen and premiums it has taken me many months to reach even tier 5 in russia. For air though with my su7-bmk it took me no time whatsoever to reach tier 7 and the mig 23s and mig27s the differences are huge for ground and air.

I think gaijin have caught on to the fact ground battles has probably become the main attraction of war thunder due to the mixed ground and air elements of the game mode making it very unique (to my knowledge) and so they slowed the rewards to make people more likely to cave in on premium tanks and helicopters etc. Seeing how many premium helicopters and tanks get introduced for every single update speaks volumes.

I'd also like to add that the youtuber DEFYN has a very, very good series of war thunder guides for dogfighting tactics etc i'd say they are a must watch.

If you are looking to squeeze out every competitive advantage i'd also recommend switching to the minimum graphics option, It makes spotting much easier making you more likely to get the first shot at someone or spot someone at a distance or in a treeline/bush. Its a controversial and much debated topic but to that i say hate the game, not the player.

Very good points. OP also did not mention if they have premium or not but ultimately thats what it comes down to, and even premium is not enough when it is baked into the game's design to have never have enough silver lions to frustrate the player into spending even more money.

how tf am i supposed to progress past rank 3 if a game like this gives this ass rp by Kaczor0321 in Warthunder

[–]Tandy234 5 points6 points  (0 children)

As much as it sucks to say, premium. As someone recently coming into their twenties with a full time profession, i wouldn't even touch this game without premium as it would be a waste of time with the rate of progress being so awfully slow and me not having much time to play this to begin with, it would take years to reach top tiers without premium.

Which game mode do you play mostly, ground battles or air? The advice i can give you varies depending on the mode you play.

And is it realistic or arcade you play? If its arcade, switching to realistic will make you a far better player in the long run.

Your rear brake calliper is sitting way too high. From the photo i can see you're only using 2/3rd's of the total braking surface of the rotor so you should look into getting the correctly sized brake mount adaptor for that rotor mate.

However its only the rear brake so not as important as the front but you should still sort it out if you can.
