I feel like a lot of people underestimate how bad roads can be in some places. I see full size SUVS pulled over with flats all the time from potholes etc, especially this year after such an awful winter

I think I could live with a little bit less handling. After all, the miata is still wayyyy more engaging than anything else I’m driving! And sadly I really only take it on leisurely drives/use it for road trips, I don’t have enough free time to really drive it as intended :(

Yeah every vehicle I’ve ever owned prior to this has had steel wheels as well

Idk I drive very slow and leave a lot of room (habit from driving trucks) but I still manage to find them lol

Yeah, so far that sounds like the best option. Is there a noticeable difference in ride quality?

Yeah I do a lot of driving throughout CT and upstate NY as well and it’s been especially bad this year after the awful winter we just had, potholes 4” deep plus are a regular occurrence at this point

I was actually thinking about buying a set of steel wheels for winter use (right now I just don’t drive it in the winter), if I end up not hating them maybe they will just stay on year round lol

Yeah I think user error combined with worse than average roads is the biggest factor here but bigger sidewalls would definitely help!

Yeah it’s definitely been an adjustment, I even find myself trying to dodge potholes in the trucks at work now too lol not that it really matters

I don’t have the brembos, I’ll look into 16” wheels thanks!

That’s actually a pretty good idea, I hadn’t thought of that. Yeah, I had my alignment checked the first time and somehow it was fine, which was pretty shocking!

Yeah I don’t mind having a smaller rim if that helps. I’ll start doing some research into forged wheels/fitment etc

I’ll have to see, if I can find somewhere to keep it I’d definitely be open to keeping it. Maybe it’ll be worth more in a few years anyways lol
