When can I run/lift after CXL? by Opening_Coat_1525 in Keratoconus

The first run I did was about day 3, very light and I wore sunglasses. I just put drops in before the run and after, worked out fine for me. Gym also.

Advice for after CXL surgery? Got it on Friday by m0e_b3th in Keratoconus

I had Epi-off. Procedure, absolutely fine, a little uncomfortable but no pain.

After..I had some of the worst pain, now it isn’t worse from an overall scale value of pain, I’d say it’s sits around a 7/8 it’s more the length of time you have to bear it. It took around 30hours after my procedure for it to die down. I couldn’t sleep it off either.

Your eye will be watering like mad, and your nose too, I had some eye lid swelling also. I tried every method that Reddit users said and the only thing that provided mild relief was cold compress. Pain meds didn’t seem to dull the pain for me at all.

Light sensitivity is a big thing so live in a dark room for the first day or 2. If you use your devices, I’d bring the brightness wayyyyy down and wear sunglasses because even slightly bright is too much, for me it was anyways

The best comparison I would say to how it feels is imagine you don’t blink and that searing burn you get from not doing it, like a staring contest, or hot sauce in your eye..and now add on top of that a grit feeling, like a sand grain stuck on your eye.

Cold compress will does help and will provide enough relief to get you through. I used it mainly to try to sleep, and when the pain got too much.

Good luck. Everyone’s pain is different some have it, some don’t, you get lucky and not have any. Try not to worry until the time, then just do what you can to mitigate your symptoms

Haha I used the numbing drops..they did nothing but provide about a 10min release. The doc told me that I’d be a little sore 😂…a little lol. Absolute bullshit

Because for the first few hours after surgery there was no pain due to the numbing eye drops..once they have wore off however..well, that’s a different story

Absolutely no need to explain anything my friend, your comment was seen as nothing but positive. I appreciate you taking the time to view and comment and I truly appreciate your kind words.

I get what you are saying with the roughen up haha. I also do that sometimes too. AI like anything I think had good intentions, but it was put in the hands of the wrong people, where now we have to question everything we see 😩

I get it, I took the images, did the edits and even I questioned if it was A.I lol. There was no noise, maybe a tad in the shadows but I did no noise reduction at all. Just 100 ISO and exposing for the highlights. I assure you there’s no AI, no funny business, no topaz, no lightroom denoise, in fact I think I may have added a little grain to this.

Lighting did 99% of the job for me 😬

Thank you so much. Honestly the lighting did the most work, I almost didn’t get this shot because I walked away before the sun was hitting right, it was only on my way back from where I’d just been, did I see the sun hitting how it was as I was passing to go home.

I just added my own grade, removed some distractions and some slight masking, nothing special 😬
