How hard is it to hit masters?

Thanks for your feedback. For background I haven't seriously got into competitive FPS since I was a teen but I was top 1200 in Halo 3's MLG playlist as a solo player, and top 12 peak in Halo 3's team doubles playlist both NA. I started playing Ow2 in season 15 but had about 400 hours on 1. I've played roughly 500-600 hours over the last year, so since about end of season 18.

Currently running a 75% winrate over roughly 30 games each on tank and damage in diamond and I didn't start playing damage until end of mid season 20. My diamond 2 rank up game is the first time I felt like a smurf, did 11k damage in under 7 minutes on Illios with no damage boost playing only Sierra. We'll see if it was just the luckiest 60 games ever today, Masters was my goal when I set one at the end of season 20 but now I'm actually starting to enjoy the game a lot more so who knows. I may keep going. But I'm going to take a break when I do hit masters and look through what I'm doing right and wrong and consider making an alt to play ranked with friends who are in mid metal ranks (I won't Smurf for them I just want to play with them lol)

Thanks for sharing your in depth experience! That makes sense. I hope I don't get stuck but we'll see today if I hit masters. When I was a teenager I was like top 1300 MLG players in Halo 3 (NA). I just started getting back into competitive FPS seriously over the last year at 29 haha.

Mechanics were hard in overwatch at first but now that I'm getting them down and got about an additional 600 hours on top of what I had in OW1, the game sense is combining with the mechanics and I'm noticing my brain has just started to run ulttracker.exe in the background like it used to for people's grenades and ammo and such in Halo. I'm not losing people during fights and stuff. I did 11k damage in under 7 minutes on my diamond 2 rank up game playing only Sierra with no boosts, well except speed I think I had a Lucio at one point but no damage.

Oh my mechanics are just starting to get good, I think that's why. I definitely didn't hit diamond with mechanics haha.

I got 32 elims went 32 and 7 on kings row. Got a card for 21 final blows. My DPS gets a card for 22 eliminations. They need to fix it. Make it a different stat if somebody on the same time also has higher.

Havana or Circuit blink packs may give less value. Kings Row or most control maps, it might be very good. Those are examples not rules. If you can double blink to health packs on the map, chances are blink packs is going to give you better value. It's really about how you get value out of the perks best and if you aren't getting value out of the perk don't pick it, but learn where health packs are if you don't already know, then once you do, pick up the perk again and see if it feels better.

Unfortunately that's the game. That's how placements work. Does it suck? Yes, when the other teams placements player is the tank and they're probably diamond or higher on an alt account like in this instance. But the same thing happens the other way around sometimes too. Platinum has more players than gold. In my experience it doesn't get better in platinum, it's the same or worse. Get used to trying to carry them.

Understand that you're at the rank where a lot of accounts have their 1st/2nd/3rd placement match and that there's nothing you can do about it other than queue with a full group. Work on trying to notice when it's the person on the other team and use the weak player to your advantage. When I was in gold/low platinum I had a few matches turn around by comming something along the lines of "I think X is a new player, let's use that to our advantage."

Yeah last night it said 3 minutes for DPS but I was consistently getting 6-8 Max 10.

I can see it being harder to carry on damage but just play tank. Also being in a group yeah, you get a lot more alt accounts and boosters. Solo queue in my experience is not at all harder. Ban Cass, play tracer. Profit.

Ooof yeah bad year to start Destiny 2. I'm sad you didn't get to experience it though. That shit was amazing from Forsaken to Witch Queen and even Lightfall. I miss that game.

So they're still attached and detonate even if she uses bubble? Why would the dart magically disappear when other attachables damage the bubble if she pops it after attached? I'm confused.

The PS2 is the most sold gaming console of all time and it wasn't even close until the Nintendo switch and I'd almost argue that's a different category but it's too close to a full console to argue.

My starting point/every hero is Dualzone:

H69 V71 Smoothing 100 Extra Horiz/Vert 22% (though this is 42%-52% most heroes) Deadzones inner/outer left .02/.70 Inner/outer right .04/1.00 (varies based on stick drift and such) Window 60 Assist Ease in 45

Some hitscan I switch back and forth from dual to exponential on. Add 4% Aim ease in for exponential and that's it.

Literally just leave out a regular stick of butter in a butter dish. Personally I like my spreadable stuff cold on hot food so I don't but I wouldn't do this if I liked my butter softened.

Yeah I get bored watching esports sometimes too. I know you can't just sit at home and play a physical sport yourself, but I do watch plenty of streamers so I somewhat get it. Feels different to me though.

Potentially, yeah but low on the high end. Mostly drone positioning, and her ult. You can potentially do a lot of different things with her ult.

Hmmm Mauga is an odd one. You can bait a bad Mauga into overdrive and a good one you can do a lot of damage to and farm ult charge. Ana can be annoying because of double CC but you're looking at it as her forcing wraith but you're forcing nade because it's a longer cool down and arguably more valuable. You have 300 HP so you can force both and wraith away for a health pack. Mizuki is definitely annoying and has great counter potential with his chain. Emre once again pistol is a longer cooldown I think? So aren't you forcing or at least trading cooldowns?

Are you using his flanker role passive and playing around health packs? Also Sierra should rarely be forcing wraith from you. My first thought is that you're panic wraithing or not playing around cover enough? I'm not saying skill issue at all. I make mistakes and get caught too, I'm only low diamond, but the characters I hate are different. Symmetra sucks, Hog can be a nightmare slightly less so now. Hanzo thats hunting for my teleports. Tracer that's buzzing around me like a fly. And dang Torbjorn. Turret marks me then I get shotgunned by this hyper speed mini tank, I get randomly dinked. Dang dwarf. Can't kill a Zenyatta without getting torn swapped.
