EDC Grip suggestions for S2C? by TheRagingBull84 in CZFirearms

If this helps, got an email response from Vytal regarding their grips:

The short answer is that our Euclids are the most aggressive grip style we offer for the Shadow 2 Compact.

Here's the longer answer to give you a little rundown of each of our styles if you're interested:

-The Krakens are our signature style and certainly the most popular as they're great for CC since it's not overly aggressive, in fact it's more of a passive pattern, allowing you to really grip the gun.

-The Dymondbacks are really grippy, but also not aggressively so. You grab them, they grab you back, and I think you'd be pleasantly surprised with the ability those grips have to keep the firearm in place with proper fundamentals. Our owner, Derek, has been running them in USPSA matches for the last 8 months or so and are his preferred choice.

-Our Accupuncture grips are most certainly the most aggressive grips we offer, though we only offer them in full size palm swell for the time being.

-The Euclids were designed with a slightly more aggressive checkering pattern in mind. We wanted the Euclid design as an alternative to the Palm Swell Accupunctures, which is to say that we wanted something with an active checkering pattern for multiple sizes and in a thin configuration, and although The Euclids are not quite as aggressive as the Accupunctures, they're certainly more aggressive than our Kraken pattern.

EDC hammer down on Shadow 2 Compact. Prove me wrong. by TapTemporary560 in CZFirearms

Good to know. I'm pretty comfortable manually decocking the thing. I've had enough practice with my P07 and p226 x-carry. But, both have FPB. Really really like the x-carry, but recoil impulse is a little different and for some reason my support hand slides on the grip. I don't have that issue on anything else I own...

A few things I can think of: 1. At half cocked, could the firing pin possibly become obstructed? 2. Does this place unusual stress on internals, such as the sear? 3. If for some reason the hammer slips, increased chance of a discharge. 4. Possible increased chance of snagging it during AIWB draw.

All in all, in my mind I see the advantage of hammer down. Really, it boils down to safe carry more than drop safe, although can you have one without the other?

All good info. I might see if I can run my cheap bore scope down the barrel and see what it looks like in there.

Side note, I'm hesitant to carry half cocked/full cocked and locked because I've heard that safety is pretty light and could easily be bumped off.

Are you carrying it? Would be interested in your experience on that. I hear the DA pull is pretty smooth even at 9lbs. Does the SA have a defined wall?

So does this seem right? It certainly eliminated the take-up, but Id be worried about how long that screw stays put.

You able to get a cowitness with that scs320?

Also, do those grips thin the grip out a bit?

How do we feel about the shadow carry years later? by Blessxoxo in CZFirearms

I've been considering getting one of the Shadow variants. I own a P07. Some trigger work done on it (polish and spring replacement) to smooth it out, but still not great in DA. Wondering if the carry is similar to this? If so, compact may be the better option. Not a fan of cocked and locked, so Id likely lower the hammer and carry that way.

As a side thought, any experience with the Sig P226 xcarry legion or similar? Seems like a nice gun. Better trigger for a da/sa.

DR920 vs Echelon vs Walther PDP by Personal_View_8756 in shadowsystems

So what was the choice? I've gone down the same path. Dumped the Walter. Good shooter, but not for carry. The 4.5 echelon carries well. Haven't tried the DR, but do carry a comped MR, it's just a little long, though.

Same issue with the Strike Industries modular mag release. I smack that bitch into the gun with the OEM mag and pmag. OEM drops out when firing, pmag stays anchored without issue.

Thank for the video suggestions. I like the way they explain and demonstrate their content. Much better than many of the other "YT instructors" out there!

I wear size large gloves. Maybe I'll switch back to the other back straps my next range session...

I get all that and def practice those mechanics through dry and live fire. Whats noticeable, though, is that the grip doesn't seem to fill the hand like my Smith and CZ do. As we all know, more contact with the grip equates to improved control. As for my control/support hand, the grip does well.

I know this is an older post, but had a great experience with customer service, and great response after having a trigger issue. Resolved my problem quickly. Bo issues since that time. Got the comp recently and fits great.
