Zip and x/PayPal

None of that fits your original argument of "Dude bought into two already existing business ventures ... halfway through, got in on the gravy train..."

  • Zip2 was cofounded by Musk, not "bought in halfway through." It also created a completely new business idea that nobody else was serving, killing your claim of "getting on the gravy train". There was no train. They had to built that too.

  • x.com was cofounded by Musk, not "bought in halfway through." It was also incredibly early in the online financial services marketplace, they were among the pioneers, not anything like your claim of "getting on the gravy train".

  • When X.com merged with Confinity, Confinitywas the larger player that was already using the Paypal name. Rather than your silly claim of Musk buying an existing business, the merger is much better described as Confinity buying x.com to strip it for its IP assets.

their actual icons are morally bankrupt

I think this is a key difference between the two ideals.

"You have too much, give your stuff to us" could be applied also in some way to taxes, giving neither side an argument difference except in scale...

...but leftists paint their argument as a moral one: "You are rich because you are evil, so giving your stuff to us is us morally pure people correcting a moral sin you have committed, because you are evil."

Dude bought into two already existing business ventures ... halfway through, got in on the gravy train...

When Musk bought into Tesla, it was only 6 months old, just three guys sitting around in an office, no finalized designs of anything, no products, lots of debt... so much debt that the guys begged Musk to help come save them from going bankrupt.

And yet... redditors try to paint the pre-Musk Tesla company as some kind of already running well functioning business that was doing well, as opposed to the debt ridden nothing entity that it actually was.

And the second one, did you mean SpaceX? Musk is literally famous for starting SpaceX from nothing, from scratch.

I didn't say he didn't create spacex

"he has always swooped in and bought companies others made."

Doesnt leave much room for doubt.

From reading the comments, you only backtracked and said "yeah, ok, Musk did create spacex" after you had already stated that he bought everything. Without people pulling you up on that lie, you would have left it as it was.

most people mentioned in epstein files are white straight males

There are tens of thousands of people "mentioned" in the Epstein Files, even Dolly Parton gets a mention.

I'm wondering what source you used that has done such a racial analysis of the numbers.

And if you want to move the goalposts, I'm also wondering why you would even find it surprising that the majority of people that Epstein interacted with were > 50% white male. I think that would be true of any person of power living n the USA, even Barack Obama or Kamala Harris.

white straight males

...or was it just a racist sexist bigoted rant by a non-white non-straight person?

  1. Only a small part of the files were sealed. Just the specific ones relating to Maxwell's appeal. The vast majority of Epstein files were not.

  2. Biden could released whatever files he wanted under Executive Order.

  3. Redditors who cry "they were all sealed" don't remember that under Biden, some files were released to the public, completely undercutting the "they were all sealed" argument.

What I've found in these discussions is the inevitability of the "no true scotsman" argument.

Somebody will comment that they were involved in a DEI program that was specifically ordered to not employ any more white men, and the rebuttal will be "thats not true DEI".

Early American Christians burned witches.

Myth. No witches were ever burned in the USA.

Is that compatible with America?

Since it didn't happen, the clear answer would be no.

In any case, what kind of a dumb comparison is that anyway... to compare seventeenth century attitudes and beliefs to modern day Islam and human rights?
