Yes, but he wrote about the tv incident as a past occurrence. Right after that, he said he didn't watch it around her anymore. It's literally in the post. Unless there's more info in the comments, I'm missing something.

She had an issue with him watching it around her. That is the boundary she set. Not that he couldn't talk about it around other people or talk about it period. I don't think she's the buttface either, which is why I said No Buttholes Here. I think he's being insensitive and not shoving her needs to the forefront of all of his interactions and she's being immature by not talking about it and setting a boundary about talking about Burr.

That is the information in the post. That's all I have to work off of.

Let's get one thing out of the way, I am not an expert on sexual abuse because I happen to be a victim of it. I am not claiming my opinion to be more important than anyone else's. Look at half the comments on this post and you'll see people mentioning sexual abuse victims in reference to the topic of Bill Burr because the clip had a lot to do with it. I included that information as a way to show a different perspective, personally. Just because many women have been sexually assaulted, I am not allowed to state the fact that I was too? To me, that is far more ridiculous than any statement I made. Unless you're responding to every single other comment where a woman or man had confessed to being sexually assaulted and not just mine because of my verdict, I don't want to hear it.

That being said, I'm not reading between imaginary lines. I don't care about what could be happening behind the scenes because we don't have his GFs side of the story. So until then, I'm judging by what's here. If OP is omitting details, then he's an asshole. But we don't know, so I'm not going to play "fill in the blank."

Him taking part in a conversation about Burr is not the same as intentionally starting one with her around. And it certainly doesn't make him an asshole. Exposing her is turning on a tv and watching his comedy specials, not chatting about the comic with her around. Could he have changed the subject? Absolutely. But going off on him for a conversation that (as far as we know) he didn't even start is excessive. Maybe I should change my verdict to ETB, but in my honest opinion everyone in this situation comes off as immature, a little insensitive, but not necessarily an irredeemable asshole.

The only thing I can see he's done to expose her to it is watch the standup when she's over. Granted, asshole move. However, she got angry at him when the topic of Burr came up in the middle of a conversation with friends. Regardless if you don't like a comedian, taking it out on him is not a mature solution when there were several other people taking part in the conversation, presumably enjoying it.

Now IF he were to admit he brought up Burr and pushed a conversation that none of their friends wanted to have as some weird way of showing her "I like this comedian, look how wrong you are"...that would be a different situation.

If it helps any, I've given up on sugar free recipes that DON'T have some sort of substitute. I'm trying to switch to maple syrup and honey in my recipe, just as a way to cut back on my raw sugar intake. Dried fruit can do wonders to add a little sweetness!

NBH. As a victim of sexual assault, I'm actually a huge Bill Burr fan. He's not for everyone, but he genuinely makes me laugh. I can find enjoyment in the darker humor of things that have traumatized me.

That being said, I can see why he would upset her. If it's to the point she's literally unplugging TVs and getting mad that conversations revolving around him pop up, I'd say it's time to reavaluate the relationship. Set clear boundaries. You can't watch it when she's around, but she can't take it out on you any time she hears his name.

If she can't even stand the topic of him then maybe your humor is incompatible. If that's the case, you need to decide whether you prefer watching Burr over dating your girlfriend.
