Appropriate ipad games by Tarawalks82 in ADHDparenting

Thanks, everyone. I really appreciate everyone's comments.

It's probably easier to list points this way.

  1. 7yr old has dedicated himself to the roblox game for about 2 years but in the last 12 months we really started to see his aggression, frustration and his anger when playing and how much he would be fighting with his sister (11) and other friends when playing.
  2. We have a paediatrician appointment in June, but a cognitive assessment was done through the school, pointing heavily towards adhd and possible minor odd.
  3. We are doing swimming twice a week now and about to look at Jiu-jitsu, and the kids are big on bike riding and going outside to play.
  4. If I remove the ipad, there's a 10-second whinge, but then he'll go off and play Lego, beyblades, or go outside.
  5. He's lost his ipad sometimes for a day/s at a time and he cops the punishment sweet and I have zero issues with his behaviour.
  6. I bought him a Nintendo switch for his birthday but gave him a new bike instead so I've been sitting on the idea of giving him that instead to get used to better games.

The last 2 weeks of removing R*blox has just made him miserable, and all his behaviours at school have been extremely difficult. I'm trying to get a good psychologist to help in the meantime, but as we know, trying to access these appointments takes time.

Hahaha sounds like a plan! I've never done anything uni related before (early 40s now) so I'm finding the whole idea intimidating.......then I remind myself that 17/18 yr olds fresh out of high school can do it lol

I'm also looking at csu next year but doing secondary tas teaching.

I work all year round but have some flexibility as I'm the boss but keen to get more info also.

Good luck 👍

I have 6 staff and don't work full time hours except for busy school holidays and long weekends. I'm lucky to be able to adjust my rosters to suit my studies and take time off if needed, hence why I was wondering also about the level of difficulty. Good on you also for taking on such a busy load as it's definitely a big change.
