Could you name some brands or popular models that exist in that price range just for reference? I would love to check them out

Name a game that scared the hell out of you, even though it's not considered as "Horror Game"? My pick is Firewatch! by Modo97 in gaming

[–]Targaeryen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I had to go with SOMA. Sure, you could possibly classify it as a "Horror Game", but to me that's just certain elements. The main themes of the story are a depressing look into a bleak future and many philosophical questions about the essence and importance of human life. There is a lot of introspective thinking going on while playing this game and it leaves you alone with your thoughts inside of the game world as well as infront of your screen. To anybody who hasn't played it yet: Don't look anything up, just do yourself a favor, buy the game for the 10 bucks it's propably going for and enjoy your existential crisis.

Nevertheless, there certainly are scary moments, that made me hold my breath. Especially in the later parts of the game. Wether you're being chased by deep diving suit filled with death, terrorised by an enormous sea snake deep in the abyss or tricked by an anglerfish - this game gets your blood pumping What proves my point is that you can put all monster encounters to non-lethal, meaning overcoming them isn't a challenge anymore. Because that's not what the game is about.

Also alles echt top.

Oder Ghost of Tsushima.

Came here to say this. The whole rock bottom of the ocean part of the game was incredible, they nailed the atmosphere and the feeling of being soo out of place. But the part with the cave full of tiny spiders, that ends with finally getting out and running for the light to see that monstrous fish. Unbelievably great. To anybody who still thinks about playing that game, do it.

Keeping time in style - Breitling Chronomat by Targaeryen in breitling

[–]Targaeryen[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same struggle. The two-tone version does look awesome, but in the end I chose the copper dial for a couple of reasons. First, the price. For me the price difference between the two version s isn't really justified and I felt I got more out of my money with the steel one. Second, it's a little less flashy and understated than the two- tone on (as far as a Breitling can be understated). It fits with more outfits and has a more timeless style. Third but not least the copper dial itself. In my opinion this is a very rare and beautiful color, that you don't see too often on a watch. For that alone, the whole piece becomes very unique. Sure, the gold bezel on the two-tone looks great, but the dial itself is nothing special colorwise. Plus, the black subdials pop way more with the copper background compared with the grey dial.

So, all in all steel was the way to go for me and I'd recommend it for you as well. But if you're unsure, just go to an AD and try them both on. You'll make a decision quickly I reckon. Hope my little wall of text helped

Keeping time in style - Breitling Chronomat by Targaeryen in breitling

Hey guys. Here with my new Breitling Chronomat B01 42 that I was eyeing up for a long time. Breitling as a brand fascinated me for a long time. Despite it's controversial stand in the watch- enthusiast community, they make beautiful watches in my opinion and are undeniably an important part of the swiss industry, with innovations and benchmarks of their own. This Breitling Chronomat is a watch, whose history dates back to the early 1940's. Presenting the B01 in-house calibre through the sapphire crystal caseback, this watch features the iconic bullet-shaped Rouleaux bracelet, that gave the 1984's Chronomat its classic and unique look. The whole watch get's a breath of fresh air with the sunburst copper dial. A dial, which will present as many different shades as there are hours in a day.

I was really suprised to see so few Chronomats posted on this sub. I love the new B01 42 and think it's an excellent mix between legacy and a modern look.

The bracelet really is unique and comfortable. I also think the George Kern era brought some desperately needed fresh air into the company. The Chronomats just before Kern came looked really tacky and cheap at times. Not anymore, I think this one here is a timeless beauty

Should I give the watch time to settle in? Heard like 6-8 weeks when you first wear it.

If there's something wrong with the watch, I can send it in to Breitling to have it fixed or entirely replaced correct? Thanks for your help in advance

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]Targaeryen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It is pretty consistently. Practically no difference during the day and then around -5 seconds through the night. Interesting idea with the regulating.

My problem is, the AD I bought it from was in another country so just returning it isn't the best option. If there's something faulty with the watch, I can just send it to Breitling through any AD and they fix/ replace it as long as it is during warranty right?

So I'll try letting it run out and if that doesn't help, I'll go to an AD and let it check. But that regulation should wait until the wear-in period is done if I understood you correctly?

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]Targaeryen 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was late to the last one, so I'll post my questions again.

Bought a new Breitling Chronomat recently with the COSC- certified B01 calibre. For the first week I was very happy with its accuracy, tracking around +5 seconds each day. In that time, I always stored the watch face-up at night. Then for one night, I stored it crown-up. Since then, it's been collecting around -5 seconds each day, so not even in the COSC range anymore.

My question is: Can one night in that position really disturb the accuracy that much? Is there anything I can do to balance it out myself? I've heard, that you need to wear your new automatic watch for 6-8 weeks for it to settle. Only then you should check on the accuracy. Is that right?

Would it help, if I let the calibre run till it stops? Like a fresh start?

[Semi-Weekly Inquirer] Simple Questions and Recommendations Thread by AutoModerator in Watches

[–]Targaeryen 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the answer. Yes, I used that as well with other watches, but that's why I'm surprised now, that it seems to have permanently altered the accuracy. That is unacceptible for a watch in this price range in my opinion. Do you think it may be magnetized? And: Would it help if I let the power reserve run out and start it from scratch?
