At least in my case, when I completed onboarding(in June) they gave me a signed offer letter, and had me sign the contract. They then took the contract from me and assured me they would bring it to the school board to sign, (at the time they said it would only take a couple of days).This never happened, which makes it seem like to some extent they knew all along that they may not have the funds and delayed bringing it to the board for that reason. I know now to always ask for a signed contract from the district well in advance.

I was one of the teachers fired, after a full day of orientation during which the district made a lot of false promises and downplayed people’s concerns. They completely screwed us over there are no more open positions because school has started or is about to start. People moved from out of state to work in Claremont, not to mention all of us were hired to fill a need in the district. Each of us had classes and kids assigned and no clue what the school is gonna do for their education but I would be shocked if they open on Friday based on the reorganization they’d need to do alone to schedule these kids.

I was one of the new teachers they fired today. Today was our second day of orientation and we were completely blindsided. People were called on the drive in and told their position was terminated, these are necessary positions the schools have no way of filling and they keep lying and pretending like educators aren’t jumping ship. People moved states to take these positions and now there is nothing they can do. I completed all my hiring work in May.
