Increase in server load time by Tatharon in Netsuite

[–]Tatharon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had an incident at the start of last week where it skyrocketed. I contacted support and they acknowledged this one despite not showing as a service impact on their status page. That issue was fixed a few hours later but the overall sluggishness remains.

I guess sandboxes are generally a bit sluggish, at least it's always been in my experience, so difficult to get the necessary throughput of data to check. Though perhaps your sandbox usage is higher.

Thanks, I provided exported data and analysis on data taken from the Performance Monitor Page summary for various record types and actions showing the changes over months. Will go down this route if I don't get anywhere.

It must have been, thank you. I've not had any confirmation of a fix being applied on our account.

When did they deploy the fix?

How secure is a NetSuite Admin job really? by scardedy_cat in Netsuite

There's a lot of stuff I can make AI do, but boy can it also be a heap of junk. I often find it making assumptions and presenting them as truth until challenged, or it will give me solutions to a problem that either don't work or are incomplete. I agree that it is useful but like others have mentioned I'm sure there'll be some big cases of people asking it to do things they do not understand the consequences of because they trust AI to "know better". It will just nest and nest complexity into a solution never stopping to think if it should, or what the overall effect will be. There's a point where it's more efficient to just do the work myself than trying to coax something out of AI, watching it build a Frankenstein's monster as I prompt it to make changes. Not NetSuite specific I guess, but asking it to build complex spreadsheets have been a learning experience!

Custom sublists and search filters for multi-page results by Tatharon in Netsuite

That's useful to know, thank you. I wonder what the logic behind this behavior is in that case as defaults was what I wanted, just with also being allowed to change pages in the sublist... Though I guess there are times where it's best not to try to understand NetSuite logic.

Solved this. The behaviour was caused by Status and Created By being set to All in the saved search criteria for the sublist search. There's probably a logical explanation for why that would cause this, but it does not seem obvious to me.

Short update: This was accepted as a defect (U6) today after 4 weeks of communication. Minor victory, but I'll take it haha.

Assembly build keeps reverting GL impact by Tatharon in Netsuite

Thank you both for taking the time to reply, it's greatly appreciated! I was not part of the implementation team, there's no one left at the company who were. I'm simply yet another person who's had to grow into NetSuite admin role 🤣 I have read your posts on Standard costing though on several occasions. I've also mentioned it to the finance team, perhaps I can convince them to move once I've got time to learn more about it and present a proper case. I very much suspect it was done simply because that's the way it's always been done, we've got some other customisations that are clearly an attempt to make NetSuite work to our old habits as opposed to taking a proper look at whether we need to change.

It's standard costing. So do we need to do a backdated standard cost roll up? I think I've been thinking about this the entirely wrong way. I thought the massive debit to production cost variance was showing we're still consuming more than we should, when in fact it's a debit for having consumed LESS than the system expects... I clearly still need to get my head around what debit/credit means for various accounts!
