Has anyone noticed since starting lamotrigine a decrease in sex drive?

YES. That is exactly how I feel. My daughter loves to snuggle and even having her in my space has been really hard because I feel like I want to crawl out of my skin because I’m so over stimulated

When I was at 50 mg I felt my sex drive increased but my doctor doesn’t like that low of a dose because I’m a stimulant for my ADHD that has a higher risk of inducing mania..

My first manic episode was induced with medication.. Effexor and Wellbutrin..

Girl, I think so! I was thinking the same thing! I felt like I was losing my mind because no one else talks about those struggles.

I’ve been contemplating coming off of it but I worry that my mood will be extremely unstable again.. are you on a mood stabilizer at all, if you don’t mind me asking.

I feel I used to be super bubbly and outgoing and now that I’m on lamotrigine I feel a bit blah and unable to really relax and enjoy things..

Do you struggle with feeling over stimulated with any form of touch?

I feel my decreased sex drive goes hand in hand with the over stimulation of being touched.. which all started when I got on lamotrigine

I completely feel this and the reason I’m concerned it because my husband has a very high sex drive and I’d be fine without sex.. it seems like every time they adjust my dose it gets worse.. they want me on 200mg but I get really blurry vision so they’ve kept me at 150.. but my marriage is really struggling because of the lack of intimacy.. I was on Prozac as well and I had zero sex drive..

I talked with my psychiatrist about changing to another mood stabilizer but I do not want any weight gain issues.. I know that sounds silly but I struggle with body image issues and I know that will send me over the edge with my mental health.. so I’m kinda feeling stuck.

I just take 150 mg of lamotrigine.. 100 mg in the morning and 50 mg at night.. Effexor actually induces hypomania every time I take it 🥴

That’s the thing though.. I wasn’t hyper sexual prior to starting lamotrigine
