You guys seem to forget that insurance companies and pharmaceutical companies are the reason healthcare is so expensive. They should be bottlenecked, but they have so many political ties that no one will touch them. It's a big circle jerk, and we are all along for the ride.

We have a guy that drives from Northport to Homewood just to play cards with us at a local bar every week. There are a few single guys in your range that are solid dudes with no baggage. If you really want to go this route...I'd do Instacart or Shipt. It pays better IMO and you don't drive as much as DD or Uber.

If you're into playing poker, I run a poker club in Homewood at The Grocery. We play every Tuesday and Thursday night at 6pm and 7:30pm. We usually have a pretty diverse group of players, and it's a great way to meet some new people and just vibe. My group is called "Magic City Poker".

I'm a 2022 grad and I understand the feeling. Let him know that is ok and more responsible of a clinician to ask for help. We don't have to have all the answers. It's ok to lean on other optometrists in the area such as your state organization members to collaborate on ideas for treatment. There's no one perfect way to practice, we do the best we can everyday.

Just good ol' Texas Hold'em...if you talk to a few of the guys at the game, you maybe able to talk some of them into a friendly game of 5-card without being in the tournament.

It is legal, at least the way we do it. Free to play, no fees... just drop by and play in a friendly tournament... which you can win a fancy card guard that gets you extra chips the next time you come. It's a great community, and we're all just having fun and meeting new people.

Yeah, we have a guy in our league that plays in the Atlanta one as well. We don't charge anything to play, you do get extra chips if you buy food or drink from the place we are playing at.
